HI AC, do you need to buy a dongle before the 8th? Use the library (as previously suggested) and any free places.
Good luck on the househunt.....
LL - so sorry to hear about your father x0 -
Thanks folks .
Started cutting back today ( food ). Once I opened the door ,the fresh air woke me up .
Jumped on a bus ,after walking down hills etc. ,and went to Poole to buy essentials .
Where I am currently living is in a confusing Layout . Coming back with heavy items from Argos ,going up that hill was very challenging . Getting me prepared for when I join gym next week .
All well and good with wifi throughout the day . It's night time when I
use it most . At least I got myself a bedside radio with d ab .
Last night ,the radio was tedious to the extreme . If I can get Lbc ,I'm halfway there . Very foggy today . Fog normally disappears by this time.
Looks like it may be increasing . I like fog , if I don't get lost around here
There seems to be a smell of burning from the flat . I quite like it .0 -
Agree that spending time on your own is a bit of an art but I tend towards the reclusive end of the spectrum. One person (my old neighbour's friend) once told me that she thought I was very aloof - I said I preferred the word "reserved" but it can take me time to get to know people well enough to totally relax. Then I can be the life and soul of the party. Retirement definitely suits me - I love my reading groups, and also sometimes go to crafting sessions, but between those and my family and close friends that is enough for me to get my fix of sociability. Even having my eldest living back with me causes a certain amount of stress but she does go off on alternate weekends so I can breathe. ((I love her dearly but was used to being on my own).
Anyway AC - it all sounds as if it is moving in the right direction for you. Getting lost (something I do all the time) can often allow you to find unexpected gems in terms of areas or pubs etc. you might not have found otherwise. Not too sure about the smell of burning though!0 -
Thanks dreaming
Took a 'wrong ' turning leaving the flat about an hour ago .
I was gonna go up Ashley road ( not Ashley cross?, to go to the Sainsbury's I went to yesterday . However , Seeing as I had the time , I followed a road and had a big long walk . There are quite a few bus stops for yellow buses , but none for the blue m1/m2 that I am
Used to getting .
So,the road I walked into ..was penn hill. I t was on my mind to look
Into that area .my friend showed me it around October time .
There is a flat ( I know , charges ) called Tudor court. I was thinking of checking it out . Yellow bus bus stop right outside . Not sure if area is too far for me . I've plenty of time , to ponder .
There was a co op ,so I managed to get what I wanted anyhow .
The road leads to Westbourne and Bournemouth apparently .
Haven't seen any cats yet .0 -
Forgot to mention ,I got an email from Richmond council .
They say they can't close my account ,until I tell them who the people are who bought my property They also want my new address.
I found out , they took money from my acct.
I filled in the information
required ,in time before I moved .
I told them ,I no longer live in Richmond borough, and that I don't need to give forwarding address . I told them to put the money back in my account.
I phoned nationwide to cancel direct debit, and put the money back in my Acct.

careful cancelling the DD as it can mean the company can't put money back into the account. May not be the case for all people though.
I think you need to tell them so they can remove you from the electoral roll.
Hope you get it sorted though0 -
AC - Sounds like It's all going well. Good idea to "explore" your new patch.
All that walking will do you good.:D
Been thinking about "what needs to be done"
Dad's affairs are in Order (I do all his paperwork etc)' I took him to Belguim in the summer - so glad I did, i arranged for the priest to see him last week.
I have a meeting with his consultant and care manager next week to discuss "stuff". i went shopping today and have stocked up the freezer with Christmas goodies, I've bought most of the ladies gifts, just the boys now.
The boys can take over "operation Christmas" if necessary.
I have gone through my diary, the decks are cleared ready for action. So not much I can do now but wait for the storm.
I was shocked that dad only has two months, I was hoping for a bit longer but obviously that was not to be.
I'm very tired but at least I feel that I am ready. My sister is shell shocked and all over the place.0 -
So sorry about your Dad LL

LL, I meant to say before how sorry I was to hear about your dad. I hope you and your family can find a way to be at peace with things in the next few weeks, and that your dad knows he is loved - which is all we can ask for really. Best wishes.0
