Well well well
Vodafone are issing me off!
They haven't sent my broadband package and when I do get it ,
It will take 2 weeks to activate .
The reason the package hasn't arrived? They spelt my name wrong .
Back in October , I asked for sim only . The sim came with a different phone no . Not impressed . Couldn't use it .
Told Vodafone I don't want to use them anymore .
Service more wooden than Sherwood Forest .got transferred after lodging my grieveiences . Holding too long .
May go to Poole to quit in the Vodafone offices there .0 -
I am using the cloud app to get online . Even 4 /3 g is worse than useless .0

Lonely person??? Vodafone????
Come on get a grip.
Have you unpacked, put your clothes away, bought Some food. Surely you have stuff to do to keep you amused.
Why not get some of your kit out of storage....tv, music stuff etc.
Tomorrow go buy that radio.
News on dadgate.......apparently he has about two months. Pretty much what I was expecting. That will be 3 deaths in less than 2.1/2 years.
Hey ho.
Didn't view any properties......househunting will have to wait. I need a clear diary to help my sister look after dad.0 -
Jeez, AC, have you no way to listen to music? You'll have to forgive me, I know nothing about mobile phones and what they can or cannot do. If not, you need to get your computer out of storage tomorrow, don't you think? Not being able to watch TV or listen to music would drive me nuts. Maybe get your bass out, too. Without any amplification, I doubt you would disturb anyone and it might occupy you for a while.
I really feel for you. I spent a great deal of my younger life alone. Being alone is a skill, I think, that many people never acquire. Noisy neighbours kill it. I need peace and quiet (will we ever get that again, here?) to let my mind "take flight". If you have peace and quiet, maybe you could try just letting your mind drift? I wish to the gods I was afforded the luxury. Is it really so much to ask? To be able to sleep when you want, rather than when some random stranger who is nothing to you deems you are allowed to?
Do you have a book to read? It used to be a thing. I did a lot of that, once. If not, I suggest you knock on a door or two and introduce yourself to the neighbours; maybe tell them your stuff's in storage and ask if you could borrow a magazine or something. Who knows, you might just strike up a conversation (I know it's not easy for some people, for instance, me; to OH, it's like breathing. We are all different)
Whatever, you are not alone. You have us, just with worse technology.

ETA: Vodafone? Check out this forum! Apparently they are the worst provider known to man! You're in Poole, not the back of beyond. You must have a whole host of providers to choose from, way more than we do, I'll bet. Get it sorted! ;0)0 -
Sorry to hear about your dad, LL.0

Morning AC (0930 here). That Chatsworth Rd flat looks decent, maybe one to look at in the New Year if it's still around.
Looks like your already expanding your search area then, as I think you previously rejected that side of Parkstone? Anyhow if that's so you should be able to find a house in that general area as well when the time comes.
As you say you need something to relieve the boredom a small mains power radio should do that, portable from room to room and shouldn't break the bank.
Can I also suggest that a couple of times a week you buy a good paper with loads of supplements to read - Saturday's Daily Telegraph is a good one and will last you ages, also whichever day (can't remember) the Daily Mail has it's financial supplement is good as well. Note I'm not recommending either paper for its political views just the reading content!!0 -
Thanks folks !
LL , so sorry to hear of the news . I got similar news last year about my mum , so my heart is with you .
Harz ..I had an appointment today for a viewing , property sold .
Only been on the market 2 days. The owners going to Australia and the. Buyers wanting to be in by end Jan .
Estrada agent (leader fox ) is lovelh. She is biased towards the area and grew up here so knows place inside out .
I was a bit of a bawling brat earlier on
I forgot to get paper / magazine yesterday . It's only one day .yeh times/ daily mail good on a Sunday
Smodlet ,sorry to hear about your neighbours giving you grief .
I should count myself lucky .
Anyway , Vodafone worse than useless so I will be dumping them ASAP
Thanks0 -

Just got text from Vodafone telling me my broadband will be active next week 8 th December . My birthday . Think I'm probably best to stay with the broadband . Will buy a dongle ( think that's what I need ) to get temporary wifi . Not sure if I should just get anyone that works . Better get my computer out of storage . Thanfulky it's a Mac mini .
Will have to check the t v sockets to see how modern it is ( or isn't ).
Feeling tired and groggy0 -
Hope your broadband gets sorted soon, and that you get some entertainment rigged up to help divert you.
Regarding reading, and a daily non-urgent excursion, could you not go to the library. I'm fairly sure that your tenancy would allow you to join them, but even if not then they have daily newspapers, books, even internet access in some of them (though there is sometimes a fee). I love reading, have masses of books at home that I cannot part with but have weaned myself of buying new ones and use the library regularly. It is part of my weekly routine - also my children's - and I've done lots of things as a result too as they regularly have talks, activities and advertise local events too. A great place to meet some new people and develop a new interest/take up an old one.LD 12.25 £1600.00/£0700.00 Fn £274.00 LTFn £525 LLTFn £300
