  • Well LL ,at least you are prepared as such for the poor news ahead .
Last year , I saw my mum in September ( TBH it was touch and go for a long time . ) She was a very tough lady , having said that she was the person who people were wished were their mum:)
We were told it was within 6 weeks . She made her 83rd birthday on sept 30th. She died the same day as my hospital appointment in mid October.
I had the feeling she hung on to see all of us . Her being in Ireland ,and us in London ..

Feeling more relaxed about stuff today, if that makes sense . There doesn't seem to be many pubs here . Could be wrong . There are loads in twickenham , but not many of those are good IMHO .
Steve Allen of Lbc,mentions the barmy arms . Small pub by the river but is always packed. Rugby fans love it .
If my brother was 'normal', and not eccentric , I could've gone out a lot more in twickenham than I did . The last 5 years I only went out a handful
Of times with him . He knows a lot of people there thankfully . When he has a beer , he becomes awkward and difficult .

No cappuccino of croissant ,or crisps . No lucozade. Maybe I'm sick

Yes. I think I'm as prepared as anyone can be. He's a tough old bird but none of us is immortal.

I know your internet access is a bit dodgy but can you google "what's On" for you area. They usually have a list of stuff and pubs which feature live music will usually flag up. I seem to recall that was something you liked.

The other way to get to know more about the area is to buy the local paper. They usually have what's on guides on a Friday or Saturday. Then of course there is the tourist office and the library .....they will have the leaflets, days out, theatre stuff, museums, galleries etc.

There should be loads going on in December and the run up to Christmas. Night markets, etc. There are quite a few decent films on release at the moment so maybe a trip to the cinema.

I think we're off to see "Fantastic Beasts" over the weekend and I Am aiming to see "Streetcat Named Bob" next week.

Once you join the gym you will start meeting people.

Have you ever considered "meet up groups" and if you enjoy walking then maybe a walking group.

You've got a bit of money now so you don't need to live like a hermit any more. :D

If I was you AC , i'd throw myself in at the deep end, n go out for a pint over the weekend. As a single bloke you'll be fine, and you might even enjoy it ;)
I take the pooches on the park, n then often pop into the pub nearby, n always get chatting to someone

I will venture out to the pubs in due course . I think with the dark and cold , I'm in no hurry , just yet .
Great advice given here , and I think I'll do some stuff mentioned :)

    Thanks p

AC, on the pub front the Bermuda Triangle on Parr St is not far away and https://www.whatpub.com would be a useful resource. You can probably pick up the local CAMRA newsletter in the BT that may also help.

    Good morning everyone.

Thanks for all your good vibes re dad. I'm ok with him dying. Iyswim. He's has had a long and eventful life and I know he really misses mum. He has said many times how unhappy he is without her. I just want to make him comfortable.

Anyway thanks, guys, very much appreciated.

AC. Not yet......give yourself a few weeks first but at some point it might be worth considering volunteering.....meet people, get to know the area, try something new, indulge one of your passions, whatever, it might even open some doors for finding paid work.

It's definitely on my agenda for next year.

Sounds a bit. "Do gooder, hippy dippy" but its good to engage with your community and "give something back".

Today I'm off to a nice craft village, they gave a great cafe so will probably eat there.

    Have a great day.
  • Hello everyone :)
Strange , but good day so far . Bus driver recommended a cheaper bus pass which I will look into .
Had to get 2pairs of shoes ( one pair of trainers for gym ).
The trainers were supposed to be around £70 I think.
When paying ,they came out t £26 or something .
Just got a calendar and a few essentials . It's Friday , so I'm in the cafe I like in Poole . My friend is bringing post for me . Hope it's not bad news.
I imagine my post will be like horses showjumping .1st refusal from creditors . :) we'll see .

Hi AC, all. Sorry about your dad, LL.

Three faults for a refusal, not the end of the world; is it two or three refusals before disqualification? Rules are probably different now, anyway.

It may not be replies from them just yet . My friend is bringing mail to me tomorrow .
Candy , not the footballers wife cafe . The one I go to is in Poole .
I took a liking to it when I was on the quay .
People are fine ,food is great . Once a week I will visit :)

No crisps , no croissant, no lucozde . Second day of porridge and honey .
Still walking lots . Found out the quickest way to the flat .About time :)
Had a strange dream about my last flat ,and my mum last night .
I get flashes of her when we used to go walking and shopping together .
As I say, we have the biggest hard drives in our heads .
    Trouble is , it's random play . :)
Feel like I've done a lot this week . Btw : when I say I have m g ,it is occular m g ( starting with the left eye). Must say , with the pyrostigamie tabkets ..I normally take those 4 times a day . I've been doing these on a as and when basis . So not so many . Booking myself an eye test soon.
Doctors next week ,and the dentist . Gym on Monday is the first priority.
    Is it really Friday ?
