Thanks for that copperjar . Very good of you.
I will look into this . I know that one or two here think I'm a bit reckless and impulsive . That may be the case . However , time is/was paramount .
I've managed to stay in this posh flat for 13 days .
I then found tomorrow 's move only last Monday .
Because I was badly wounded having to leave a place I didn't think I would ,and getting into a financial mess I obviously seem jumpy to sort out my debt and my life .
So far , everything is happening one thing after another in a good way .
I'm probably a bit too enthusiastic / anxious to lose weight etc
I do realise I need a job ,sooner than later.( finances etc)
In one way , I feel the heat is on . In another ,maybe I should chill out until after Christmas . The landlady was looking at me a bit strange today when I told her I want to lose 4 stone .
When I wrote those letters today ,they came from a pad.
This pad will be the start of my lists .
Btw: got a call from Vodafone sales . I got broadband with them £22.50 p month. That may be impulsive .Then again there is a cooling period when I can say no thank you .
We'll see0 -
Hey AC, I completely understand where you are coming from. You want everything to happen straight away - I'm like that too! I don't think you need to rush anything at all. Give yourself permission to take time out and not feel like you have to rush at everything. You've made a massive change, you must give yourself time to enjoy it. By enjoy it I mean focus on yourself, decide what you really want from life and how you will get there. Chilling out, enjoying your new lifestyle, feeling well and getting to know your new town. Not many people have the opportunity to really focus just on themselves. I'd put all thoughts of a new job to one side until after Christmas. You have enough to be getting on with deciding how you want to live the rest of your life. AC, just to give you an idea, I pay £32.00 per month for 38mb BB, free anytime landline calls, line rental and a TV package so less than a tenner less for just BB sounds like a lot to me.
I agree you need to learn to shop around and plan ahead, not just jump as soon as you think of it. Just my opinion and HTH.0 -
Thanks smodlet .:)
Interesting. Only for 6 months . So many times of late , have I looked on the box, but constantly flicked through the lot with absolutely nothing on it
I will look into it once I'm sort of settled tomorrow .
I obviously have a cooling off period , so could change my mind .
Tv seems to be full of the Big Bang theory and cookery programmes .
I'll mull it over0 -
I don't know if this will be of any help but it is where I steer everyone I come across who wants a better BB deal:

AC. Probably for the first time in your life you now have the luxury of .........
TIME.
Enjoy it, wallow in it.
There is absolutely no need to rush into anything. No not even debt clearance......with the exception of paying back family debt or debt to friends.
That should be your first priority because they are ."debts of honour"
The financial institutions can wait a couple of weeks. You can afford to spend a bit of time haggling, in fact it's in your best interests to take the negotiations slowly. Offers and counter offers might take a few weeks before you can reach a mutually acceptable figure.
I understand you want everything sorted but undue haste might mean you end up paying out more than is necessary. Even if you just save yourself a few grand it's extra money that is better in your bank account.
A saving of just £5k could mean the difference in how long you can take for your sabbatical or enable you to have a few nice holidays.
One thing that did occur to me...and I know it might sound odd comkng from me.After all I am the one who has been lecturing you on the necessity of frugal living.
I would advocate that you live fairly simply as I suggested but .......and I know this might sound at odds with that......but I would suggest you consider a winter holiday, say sometime in February and somewhere warm and sunny.
A couple of weeks in some of the warmer Mediterranean countries, Cyprus, Malta, Egypt.....or perhaps Morocco, the Canaries or even Cape Verde won't break the bank.
There are plenty of cheap deals to be had and it would do your health no end of good.
I think it would be better to invest in a bit of winter sunshine rather than fritter money away on cafes and boys toys.
Dad now home from hospital. So now it will be a routine of regular blood transfusions and palliative care. Dont know the timescales, but I'm guessing probably months not years.
Still as Smodlet so rightly puts it......he's had a good innings. I just hope we can keep him comfortable.
Very tired tonight, a lot of stress these last few days. Am viewing some properties tomorrow.0 -
Wow AC, I come onto your diary to see how you're getting on and it's full steam ahead. I'm happy for you that your weight is reducing. I know that's important to you.
I hope you don't mind me saying this but when I read LL's (and other loyal followers) frustrated messages to you I never feel like she's referring to you as stupid. I actually feel the cyber love she seems to have towards your new life for you. It takes someone who really cares to write constructive information out rather than doing the very easy task of unsubscribing. I do understand your defensiveness based on how your brother is with you, but just wanted to point out my outside view.
Having said all of that I know that you appreciate LL and everyone who offers advice too. I feel that from you too.
Good luck with whichever direction you take regarding how you use your money. I understand the need to lose the debt weight but also want you to keep as much on your side as possible and to get the perfect place for you and your new life.

Take the plunge. Go on. Once you get out of London and have a nice place and a few bob in the bank, you'll wonder why you hadn't done it years ago.I came into this world with nothing and I've got most of it left.0

Another one who can't be bothered to read... AC is out of London, has been for a little while, now, Shaky.0

Thanks very much again all.
LL , you are probably worn out with all that's going on with your dad at the moment . Keep it together . You could do with a holiday yourself , when things settle down a bit . You could be right about me needing one also.
Mind you , looking like a polar bear , I could probably go to the North PoleSpeaking of holidays , I did think of going on a train holiday in Europe of sorts . Who knows ?
Muffin , nice to hear from you again . Where would I be without any of you ? LL is fantastic , and has been a driving force for me .
She has got a lot going on and I can see I've worn people out on here with my attitude at times. I think with me, I'm trying to get things done too quick, and now need to settle down and eventually I will pay the debts I need to pay whatever the outcome.
Things have been fast . For example, the flat I initially was gonna check for
£1000 a month has gone more or less on the same day I declined to view it.I could've got my stuff out of storage and went for that.
Having said that, the place I'm going into tomorrow has the water bill included in the price . I am leaving my stuff in storage , but will have to watch the cost .
Smodlet , thanks again. I will look into that. Looks like I'm gonna be without internet for a while anyway. Not happy with that.
Shakin Steve : I made the move. Thanks anyway.you probably haven't got down this far in the thread.
Went to bed around 8.45 slept with a weird dream .
It's almost 1am, so I don't know what happens next .
Speaking of broadband .. Don't know what I'll do if I'm awake and have no signal at this time of night /morning !
Looks like I'm spending Xmas at my friends for dinner. With all that's going on , I've put xmas to the back of the que in my head .
I always said that , I want this year to go quickly (mainly because of the crap job I've finally escaped from). However, I must admit that the move happened a bit later than expected /desired. Having said that, goals have been reached at last
Listening to Lbc on iPad. There is a guy who does the graveyard shift.
(Darren Adam) he seems pretty cool, and one of the best on the formerly good station . He's talking about debt, so I may send a text to see if he reads it out0
