AC, if you can, write yourself out a "script" of what you are going to say so you can stick to it and have a record of what you have said. Keep the story to the bare minimum and stick with facts or fact based comment.
Also rather than the odd amount that 30% of your debt generates I would be inclined to start with a round sum of £9000, which is still a fantastic win if they accept!
I don't envy the task so very best wishes for a succesful outcome.
Presumably you aren't saying anything about change of address yet as you don't have a permanent one anyway?0 -
Thanks .
Harz, this is one of the reasons I want to do this today.
If they know I've changed address, it could be curtains for me.0 -

You already paid him £400 didn't you for a few rubbish runs.
Can't advise about payplan.
^^^^^.
Just how much more money are you going to chuck away. Madness.0 -
Why to payplan? As someone else said you'll get a better deal going direct to the collection companies.
Have you looked at the other threads about this? Do your research or you'll throw more money away.
I did look verbatim. I also started one myself , last night.
One of the creditors (Barclays ), have passed on a loan to wescott .
Due to time issues etc. I think if I can get a deal with Payplan , then it's a good thing . Payplan have been great . Hopefully , they will be understanding. I have to watch out for a can of worms that may be opened . (New address, no landline no. Etc )0 -

I know nothing about dmps so cant really give any constructive advice.
However, I agree that you are more Likely to be able to negotiate a better deal if you go direct.
It's worth a try.0 -

Thanks LL .( hope your father's ok)
I may do that . The key ( probably ) is my brother , if he can be bothered . He was gonna dispute this .
So I won't do anything before my brother responds??0 -

Missed this earlier .thanks0 -
Why the involvement with your brother.
What's he got to do with the price of fish.......you contracted his mate to do the job, not your brother.
Or is your brother working on commission.
You paid way over the odds for rubbish removal in the first place. £400 is outrageous, even for London prices.
£300 for a cancellation is a load of old cobblers.
The pair of them sound like shysters.0 -
Dad.....quick recap.
He s been diagnosed with leukaemia........on top of all his other ailments, far too numerous to mention.
At 90 they are not going to do anything too radical. Just "keep him comfortqble" - so patch him up and let him come home.
So we are looking at blood transfusions on a regular basis as a day oatient. It's the kindest option. Bone marrow treatments and chemo are just too rough and there's no point subjecting him to invasive and painful treatments now.
We are hoping he will be coming home in the next couple of days.0 -
My brother'sticks ' to certain people . Trying not to offend him is majorly difficult . If/when my brother does contact me, I will tell him.
By midweek, I will probably text his mate with what enthusiastic and yourself said .0
