I am with Smodlet, harz and LL on the lock business. Sorry about that.

The alarm. As one who spent two years with a 5.20 alarm, I can tell you you don't need anything external. Your body will irritatingly set itself to 5am for a while, until it gets the message that it's now unnecessary.

Ok , let's try to clear up the mess: 1) I am still trying to get hold of my brother. He will do it eventually . If not, I will give chase Buchanan call on Monday to check , then say spare key got damaged in the move.

    2) I am fed up with my brothers mate. I think that after what he said,' what are you giving me/ only joking' means that he knows I have money from the sale of flat and wants to rip me off.
My brother may have said I'm not paying him . I may not pay him remainder. When he said about paying extra for a receipt , that didn't sound right.
3)looked at studio . It was pouring down with rain all day and I got soaked.
Studio , was really a panic move by me. It is too small.
Looks like it's gonna be a2 bedroom for around £1000 a month.
Only got till next Monday . I looked at some places and am expecting estate agents to call me on Monday .
    4) saw friend and his wife today . Then got soaked.
Poole is full of potholes .
So, it's dark , rainy and I'm tired so I'm staying in tonight .

The extra money over £75 k covered for 6 months has to be notified to the bank. It's not automatic I think. So there's probably a form you can fill in.

  • Spoke to brother. Chase Buchanan have the key . :)
We spoke .all good again :) if he was like this all the time ...

On my own tired . Mg makes me sound incredibly tired, which I probably am. Flashes in my head. Have I done the right thing or have I done a wrong'n. Too early. Time will tell.
    Feeling less stressed. Less headachey.
  • It will probably take a while for it all to sink in. Like you, I have worked all my life, must be strange to be able to go to sleep and not have to worry about waking up on time to got to work.

I think you have done so well - tbh am quite jealous - I know you have made the right decision, once you get your own place and settle into a new routine it will feel great.

  • Rainy night here too AC and when you somewhere strange on your own you are bound to feel a bit lost. Getting soaked twice doesn't help.

Hopefully by Monday you will have found somewhere to stay in the short term. There seems a lot of 2 beds available in Parkstone area for around £800-£1000.

You will need to do your sums Monday as to how much you can spend in the next 6 months but still leave yourself enough to buy your house/flat. Remember to budget rather than go wild.

Hope the weather is better tomorrow and at least it looks like you don't need to go back Monday. I would ring CB anyway to make doubly sure Monday morning.

Morning AC. Good that you've spoken to your brother but I should let him and his mate go out of your thoughts now, youve paid (well) for the rubbish clearance and that's all you needed to worry about.

FIRST job tomorrow as Enthusiastic says, is to ring CB and confirm BOTH keys are with them. Please don't leave that job until later - its really important.

Good luck with the flat hunting.

Don't understand why you want a 2 bed? All furniture is in storage which you're paying for so why spend extra for more bedrooms? You can get a studio for less than £600 pcm. You need to be careful not to spend your capital unnecessarily.
