If the difference between a 1 bed and 2 bed place is £200 a month that's 4x£50 Premier Inn rooms a month. Every month. It would be better for you to fork out for a hotel room for visitors rather than shell out for a room that will not be used 99.5% of the time. Not that I'd advocate YOU paying for the hotel room anyway ;). Plenty of nice 1 bed places for less than £700 a month.
A positive attitude may not solve all your problems, but it will annoy enough people to make it worth the effort
    :) Mortgage Balance = £0 :)

  • Wow! Fantastic stuff on here again .Thanks:)
Enthusiastic, where is that one with a free gym? I'll have to look harder.
You have a couple of good points , regarding all my stuff .
I,look like an air bed my self. Good idea though.
I will have a chat to a few estate agents tomorrow.

The posh flat I'm in , would probably cost about £2,-2,500 pcm , so I cannot stay here :(
Imagine the cost in London .

Regarding the 6 months: I took a lot of good advice from some of you , regarding the sale ( first time buyers .Dont lose them. Get a b&b as a stop gap if necessary etc).
6 months seems right imho, as if I do find my ideal place, it would surely take a few months to purchase. (Legal stuff/ survey etc).

I must admit, I was lucky to find this place as a stop gap.
With a b&b , you have to be out for la large part of the day.
With a flat, it's yours to come and go as you please. I'd love to live out of b&bs :)
Actually, it's a toss up,between this place and the walberg hotel in Bruges .
My self and a friend were desperate for a place to stay in Bruges .
We had arrived unexpectedly ,after travelling through Western Europe .
There was a bike festival and everything was booked . A lovely couple had a new hotel that wasn't gonna be open for 2 weeks , but they felt pity for us.
Lovely people , and a fantastic hotel . We were the only ones in there:)

Anyway , back to today. Caught up,on my sleep for a few hours today .
Never went outside the door. Just went to Tesco metro next door .
Feeling weird .which has to be expected. Home alone in a place Unknown .
    (Almost :) )

The first few weeks are going to be strange. You will feel disorientated.

Once you get into a rental, you will feel a bit more settled. If you find something within the next week or so you can be sorted in plenty of time for Christmas.

Make that your next stepping stone on your path to your new life.
  • It is the Metropolitan, sandbanks road AC. £750 per month available now. Unfurnished one bed but has kitchen appliances and free access to lovely communal gym.

  • Thanks LL :)

Just catching up on the very important stuff:
Big yellow ..weekly licence fee exc.vat £42.00 rooms deposit total£50.40
I will phone big yellow tomorrow to find out how much my direct debit actually is.

Now , the big one ..my funds after sale and completion £265,898.66
( The figure was actually more , but I'm trying to save as much as I can without blowing it , being stupid and turning my dream move into an absolute nightmare !!) I owe one of my brothers about £5000.
The rest? Well , I will have to look at the great advice many pages ago, and hope to still find something within budget . Reality is beginning to hit me

Couldn't find it earlier, I'll have another look . Thanks !
  • There are loads of places to rent if you put minimum of £600 and maximum of £800 into R...Move
  • Found it enthusiastic :)
Yes debs , true . :) if I could drive , there's more out there.
I'm too focused on getting my bearings with what I already know.

A bit of tension and excitement tomorrow .
  • So £50 per week storage costs?

That amount after completion AC is that after mortgage repaid but not dmp? You have to repay your brother and I think you have an overdraft too but you should be left with around £260k. I would personally go for a top budget of £200k to buy somewhere to give you some leeway with finding another maybe part time job to help with your health and allow you sufficient to pay off your debts and maybe enough to buy you a few bits of new furniture. Be sensible before spending and think about whether you really need that item. A new frugal, sensible, solvent and healthy AC.
