Smodlet - blood is absolutely not thicker than water. My brother has spent his adult life (and goodness knows how much on private therapy) complaining about the stress of having been the favourite child. Well boo hoo.
AC - add bin liners to your Poundland list. Have you asked the removal people about packaging stuff?
And I meant to say that while you should leave the flat clean, especially the loo, other posters are right in saying that your buyers saw it as it is now, so don't waste money on that.0 -
Just taking a breather, before I start the big day .
Wendy , just purchased 30 heavy duty bags . Bought lots of cleaning stuff.
I got to my door to find 2 recycling boxes . I took them in .
Just had a thought . They could be the neighbours . I'd better put them outside again.
Other news : 1 call 'unknown' . Wonder who that can be ?:)0 -
Oh dear AC, family dynamics are very difficult to change without a great deal of effort by all parties. My sister (usually when drunk, which is quite often) still says that everything in her life was great until I came along and spoiled it (she is the middle of the 3 of us and has married and divorced twice, fallen out with her children through her drinking, and is still working in a low-paid job at 65, and in a rented flat (having spent the proceeds of her share of the equity from both marital houses)). Everything I have now (work-free/debt-free life) is apparently because I was always given what I wanted as the spoiled baby of the family, and not because I worked and planned for it. You would think that she would be over it after 60 years wouldn't you? Even my brother (the eldest) has a tendency to see me as "the baby" and is always offering advice (whether it's asked for or not) but at least that is done with love so I tend to put up with it (and then go off and do my own thing). Just think, in another week you will be starting your new life far (enough) away from the negativity - which is probably what is getting up your bother's nose right now. Just focus on that and keep going.0

Hello AC,
Phew, I'm warn out today just reading your antics. After the glorious last day at work where you were hungover and avoiding your colleague to the packing panic and and getting everything in line. I do understand why you're all over the place as I get the feeling you want to feel that everything is under control. It's hard to have it all under control though when you need other people's input regarding getting you moved to Poole.
I hope it all settles down for you and you start seeing the light soon. The light is there, but it's currently hidden by all those boxes and the stuff still to be put in boxes.
Get this last week out the way and it should start looking up a bit. This cold and grey weather doesn't help in any way!!!

Thanks muffin
Slowly getting there0 -
Just as well you missed out on gig tickets AC. There would be lots of coming and going to and from Poole. This way you can go down on Thursday and have the weekend down there. You could even close the flat down once all cleared and give keys to agent so you don't have to come back Monday for completion. They wont release them until solicitor confirms money through.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Debt free Wannabe, Budgeting and Banking and Savings and Investment boards. I think this is a brilliant idea, enthusiastic. What do you reckon, AC?
Hello again, MuffinTops, aw ri', babes?0 -
Just catching up with you all.
I agree there is no need for all this running around.. you don't need to be in London for completion. Your solicitor knows what to do.
If you can get organised then you can vacate the property on Wednesday, cleaning up as they empty it out. .Then just hand in your keys to the EA job done. No need to come back at all.
A little tip .........strip the kitchen and bathroom of all but absolute essentials the day before. You can then wash out cupboards and clean the oven the day before.
Ideally all you should be left to do on Wednesday is hoover and mop floors and a final schlepp round the bathroom and kitchen sink.
You are so nearly there. Just Keep going.0
