AC I doubt they are angry with you, I've worked for big multinationals, more like an inconvenience until they hire a replacement. But that chapter is ended, time to move on with your life and leave all the stress behind0

A positive attitude may not solve all your problems, but it will annoy enough people to make it worth the effort

LL, that link you provided looks like a park home to me, sorry.
AC, you have dropped them in it a bit with the short notice but, maybe, they are not that bothered, you think? Given not many seem to have had a clue.0 -
Trouble is its leasehold, and although they don't say, it almost certainly has service charges etc. just like a flat. Nice as you say though.0 -
Since everyone's posting links, this one is a stones throw from Parkstone and Ashley Road:

tbh I'm not sure about the construction either. I think it may be a timber house, hence the indemnity guarantee.??
I looked at the street view and it's on a street of traditional bungalows so I doubt its a park home. I could be wrong though. I think it's more likely that it might be on a plot which was originally part of a larger garden to a neighbouring property. It could originally have been built as a granny annexe.
I particularly liked the fact that it was very private and detached, features that I thought would appeal to AC. I posted it as an illustration to show that there are alternatives to fiats within ACs budget.
I noticed all the others properties that have been posted too. They all seem good.
As we have all demonstrated with our piccies there are plenty of nice little town houses and semis around the £200k mark. They all have the potential to make nice comfortable homes and there seems to be plenty of choice.0 -

Nice little house, even has a garage which could be turned into a home gym or workshop.0 -
Yes this one caught my eye too. I noticed it's on a gated development which AC might find reassuring.
A lot of properties in gated developments are leasehold, even houses. Generally the service charges aren't too bad, less than apartments.
However.......The charges will be mainly for the grounds and the electronic gates rather than the actual houses. The owners will usually be responsible for maintaining the property themselves.
I viewed one myself here recently and it had exactly that arrangement. Fees covered the grounds and gates but not the property. Each householder was responsible for all repairs and maintenance to their property.
However, there were strict rules about what you could and could not do to the "envelope" of the building. Even though it was not a listed building or in a conservation area the lease could still stipulate the exact style of window, choice of materials etc.
I thought it the worst of both worlds so although I loved the property I walked away. It's still on the market several months later.0 -

Cooke Rd does look nice as well, I dismissed it as ex-council but not so sure looking at streetview (trying to keep AC away from potential issues with neighbours, though know that happen anywhere, my worst experiences have been with ex-council properties who still had council tenants as neighbours).A positive attitude may not solve all your problems, but it will annoy enough people to make it worth the effortMortgage Balance = £0
