I suppose , the train fare might have something to do with it
I will see someone in Poole on a monthly basis . Hopefully as. Good
Megatrain might be your friend there AC. Bit of preplanning around appointment times and you may be able to get good prices from Bournemouth/Poole to Waterloo (not intermediate stations) if that helps.
The website is actually Megabus but there is an option for train only journeys. All off peak trains and I think dates open about 8 weeks in advance.0 -
Thanks harz:)
Yesterday , I decided to look up in the loft .
I have about six plastic containers , for me to fill up.Theyre on wheels also.
Plus I have another 3 or so, in bedroom2.
The rest of today , will be retrieving those and starting the packing process.0 -
Excellent AC. So glad you mean to make a start on packing. It will help your health to do a bit at a time and stop you feeling overwhelmed when you do exchange.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Debt free Wannabe, Budgeting and Banking and Savings and Investment boards. Thanks enthusiastic .
Amazing how many books and videos , there are
I would say 98% of those will be dumped.
I still have original boxes for both of my TVs and computers etc.
The loft is part boarded, and I am literally the elephant in the room.
Gotta be careful:)
The cartons I have : roll'n'store box 110lb/ 50kg
Not sure of diameters.
I now have abou 12 of them. Lots of stuff to throw out0 -
Um, just a question. Why two tvs when there is only one of you or do you have one in your bedroom and living room?I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Debt free Wannabe, Budgeting and Banking and Savings and Investment boards. After emptying the loft before a new roof, we discovered that one local charity shop would collect. I guess that's not likely where you are. Sadly I could find no homes for any videos, and I did research, but it seems they are all destined for landfill.
When a friend recently moved she could not find a home for 200 books, and with a heavy heart set off for the tip. There she met a chap doing the same, and they basically swapped, both returning with a couple of hundred different books. There must be a film in there.
Your enemy when sorting and packing will be sentimentality. Is the rule of thumb that if you have forgotten you owned it, or not used it for two years, it goes?0 -
Yes, 1 tv for living room 1 for bedroom:)
Good story that Wendy
I suppose I've gotta be ruthless with everything .
Interesting time ahead0 -
I use that philosophy Wendy. If I have not used something for 2 years it goes. I am even managing to do that with books and dvds these days. Clothes I get rid of if not worn in a year. I get more minimalistic as I get older.
Hope the packing and sorting gone ok AC.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Debt free Wannabe, Budgeting and Banking and Savings and Investment boards.
