If you'll forgive me, AC, you do seem to get away with murder at your place! :D

It's an old fashioned type co.( watch what you say , watch what you do..). Run a bit like the f a . Most staff there for a long time . Wouldn't last in the outside world in another job .
Myself and my colleague do early/ late on alternate weeks.

Because our job involves routine hand deliveries, we make sure we benefit . However, when I do the early shift, I make sure I'm in about half an hour before I'm supposed to be .
My colleague , the same .

However, because of all the roadworks / inconvenience , it is taking me longer to get home on the late shift. I have to look at at least two alternate ways to get home .
We claim 1 Hour overtime on late shift . If I'm pulled, I'll either tell a lie, or just lose an hours o t for that day.
Also, we cannot guarantee when our lunchtime is at timed , as we are often called to deliver important documents up in the square mile.
So it's a bit, give and take :)
But, the people are arrogant are horrible , and have cliques and run people down constantly . My colleague has a very brown tongue :)
  • Had 2 hours sleep tonight. It's 325 am .
Was thinking of asking to go part time, or for redundancy .
Hopefully, I can move sooner, rather than later.
I'll try to go back to sleep now ...
  • Oh dear, sorry to see you are having a restless night.

However it is to be expected. Just hold on, all will be well. Nearly there.
  • Thanks LL :)
    You're right . Just tired today .
I've become forgetful lately . Hopefully it's temporary , as my brain has obviously been working overtime .
Tried to make a payment to managing agents this morning at 620 this morning. Ended up talking to a nice lady on the phone .
Hope I have enough to pay.( only £9) she is not sure f it's gone through .
All part of the process and stress of moving I guess :)

Under the circumstances, a bit of brain fog is to be expected. You must be exhausted.

Once the dust settles you'll be just fine.

A bungalow that I fancied but didn't even have chance to view because it was snapped up has just come back on to the market.

I am going to view tomorrow.

Its a fixer upper. I'm guessing there were mortgage issues.

I'm a cash buyer so it won't matter if it doesnt survey well. I fully expect it to be a big project. It needs ripping apart.

The EA was delighted to hear I'm a cash buyer (of course) so hopefully she will be "on my side" if I have to get into a dog fight with other interested parties.

Fingers crossed. TBH I'm itching to get cracking.
  • Good luck LL :)
  • Thanks....

I need you all rooting for me on this one.

So send all those positive vibes. :rotfl:
  • When I get home, I will light some incense for you LL :)

Hi AC, all. I have a question for LL, please.

LL, I know you are a lovely person but sometimes you almost frighten me, "...if I have to get into a dog fight with other interested parties."

I have made a virtual friend on this forum who is an FTB and at the anxious, waiting stage, afraid "the EA will probably sell it elsewhere for more". I have told him that the EA will sell to whoever the vendor tells them to but this is a perfect illustration of why EAs have the reputation they do. It is not the EA's decision to whom a property is sold, it is the vendor's. This is an articulate, intelligent, responsible, hard-working human being who is intimidated by someone who is a glorified messenger, if he only knew it. I know you, LL, were and are a great deal more and better than this but, it seems to me, few EAs are.

This FTB already has a good relationship with one of the vendors; they have accomplished far more by speaking in person than the EA has. The sale would already have fallen through but for my friend's initiative and involvement. I fail to see how the EA can begin to justify their fee, let alone get away with the bullying tactics so many of them seem to employ, and of which I have personal experience.

I have advised him to be patient and to try to enjoy the week end. I am sure you, lovely LL, have more and better advice which I would be grateful for, should you feel like sharing.

Thank you, AC and I apologise if this should have been a PM. I think EAs and their often dubious practices should be highlighted, myself, not least for your benefit and for that of every buyer and seller out there.

Rant over. Sorry if it offended anyone.
  • Ok smodlet .Sounds like you need one of my incense candles, to relax.:)
The only thing I could suggest, is if you have a gripe with estate agents etc.you could start a thread on m s e somewhere .

We all have good and not so good experiences with various estate agents.
For example , as you know, I was edgy for some time ( dodgy photos/ brexit etc ). TBH , chase Buchanan haven't been too bad ( still crossing fingers). Wasn't keen when recommended to put an even lower price than what I eventually decided . Having said that, I have had lots of viewings.
If I did have the cash to do the kitchen / bathrooms/ carpet and a proper paint job , I would've made a much better profit . I can't say much negative towards them .
LL , knows the score :)
We all could say things that could be taken too literally on a forum .
Just relax smodlet , she didn't mean it :)
When LL tells me off, she scares me:)

Now back on topic please :)..
