You have a point there, LL... this is going to sound terrible but for some reason I cannot get the image of a rabid chihuahua out of my head... "Nice AC" <backs into corner holding chair, or do I mean broom?> :rotfl:
Best of luck with your bungalow, LL, it does sound like a project; good thing you have two strapping, skilled sons and are so darn good at this stuff yourself.
My friend, should his purchase go ahead, would benefit greatly from your experience. I have mentioned to him how knowledgeable and helpful you are.

LL; sounds like a great project to get your teeth into!
Housing market slowed up in Hampshire, pleased to hear it's not just my house. I looked on Rightmove today and there are 3 other houses that were STC months ago and have re-appeared - many it's the 'thing to do' - pull out on day of exchange
Good luck Anna0 -
Just been looking on RM here.
Anna.....same here lots of properties back on the market, and some of them really nice, not just the fixer uppers.
Is there something going on with the lenders...... a reluctance to lend perhaps.
Have the banks got the jitters because of Deutsch Banks share price woes.
Also Lots of price reductions and a load of new properties on the scene.
The market looks positively flooded.0 -
So this is good for buyers, LL? I know there will be regional variations but hope this is at least good news for my friend, although he is in West London so probably not a typical market, huh?0

I have read a deal of stuff about "gazundering" lately. I did not even know what it was until a few months ago. Despicable practice, so is gazumping (anyone remember when that used to happen?)
Where is honour in all this?0 -
Now I have news . Just been bending my friend's ears.
This evening , I get email from solicitor .
He has to talk to me regarding the managing agents.
I've asked for a Wednesday completion.
It looks very much, that I will be out the last weds of October ..possibly the weds before .
My friend did say that I should've bought first, and if it didn't work out then sell up immediately . I told him it's a sellers market , and that at this stage renting for 6 months max is the only way to go .
He is concerned for me, as he thinks I'll find it hard to get a Job .
Concerned that my money will run out .
I told him that , I am not really employable at he moment imho.
I need to lose a stone and a half in 6 months.( 4 stones eventually ).
I won't look for a job till after Christmas .
When I do, I will look for agencies to take me for temp work £8 per hour if lucky. It's not London, but I won't have a mortgage.
I told him I'm looking forward to the move from twickenham anyway.
He is happy I said that . I made sure I told him I won't be a burden .
No holding back:) he's great
One of my sisters was a little upset I thought . The other , thinks I'll be fine.one of my brothers , is surprised I did it but I think he admires me for growing up if that makes sense.
So yes, I have to start moving my backside .
I will probably phone estate agents tomorrow, regarding places to rent in lower parkstone . Ive seen a few, that I'll email to my friend to get his opinion.
Exhausted now, as adrenalin has been going on all day0 -
2 hours sleep again . It's 333am.
Gotta try to switch off .zzzz0 -
Awful night . Felt very teary( spelling) around 6 am.
Feeling rough. Have to phone Santander and white label for latest statements. Heavy rain this morning, which is supposed to last all day .
See what today brings ..0 -
Good morning AC.
Sorry to see you are feeling so slow, having a bad night won't help. Try and do your bits and pieces this morning and then maybe an afternoon nap will sort you out. Getting overtired can disrupt sleep patterns too.
You have done so well and have come so far. You just need to stay the course now and all will be well.
Nearly on the final furlong.
Exchange contracts and then you can hand in your notice. Just think how good that will feel. :rotfl:

I, too am sorry you feel down, AC; it happens to OH and I according to the weather. It is sunny here so I feel OK. Dull and cold?
Please try to ensure you eat properly as that can make a huge difference to your energy levels and we all need to boost our immune systems for the coming winter, innit?
Wishing you all the best; you are so brave! Try to think of it as an adventure, rather than an ordeal.
Sending you hugs :grouphug::grouphug::grouphug:0
