Hope you are feeling better AC. They say it is always darkest before the dawn and you have had your physical dawn and the metaphorical one is so close.
I agree with LL - I love a little afternoon nap if I have a free Saturday and it makes me feel so much better.
Hope you manage to get everything done.Aiming to make £7,500 online in 20220 -
AC. I get the feeling you might be worried about money and your future long term financial health. Possibly duscussing it with your friend has made you a bit anxious.
If I can perhaps reassure you that I honestly think you will be ok. As you know I am retired and my income is quite modest but I do live very well.
Yes I know I live with my son and we share expenses but I have paid for all the renovation work here, all materials etc. Just this week I paid to have the boiler serviced.
However, I have done a budget for when I do move out and I estimate annual costs to be around £5 to £6k. That doesn't include service or maintenance fees, running a car, holidays or entertainment, or general fun stuff but it does include groceries etc.
I don't know anything about the job market in Poole but I'm sure that you will be able to pick up some casual or part time work for now.
Registering with an agency sounds like an excellent idea. And I agree a couple of months resting is probably exactly what you need.
Try not to worry about money. Your health is paramount, once you are strong and healthy again then you might be able to find work that is more suitable to your talents and needs but for the meantime a stress free, low paid job will be fine.
I think you will find that being mortgage free means that your actual living costs won't be too onerous, especially as you have no interest in owning a car....yes I'm still car free, don't really miss it much.
A part time job at say 25 hours at £8 per hour will bring in just over £10k. Ok it's not a fortune but it's more than enough to cover day to day living if you are mortgage and rent free, especially if you have a little nest egg paying out interest - although of course savings interest is pitiful at the moment.
Living costs should be somewhere around the £6k to £8k mark, leaving you at least £2k in spending money.
In a year or so when you have moved into your proper home and the dust has settled then you might be able to look for something a bit more high powered and financially rewarding if that's what you want.
Or maybe even a little sideline enterprise ........something to do with music perhaps.
Try not to worry about your long term future, you have a good dollop of cash at your disposal.
A lot will hinge on how much you pay for your next property. As long as you don't spend to the top of your budget and overcomit yourself then you should be just fine.0 -
Thanks very much for all your kind words and support.
Not really feeling down as such..just mentally exhausted and apprehensive
When at home last night , my entire evening was on the phone.
The adrenalin was in my system all day. Anxious I guess.
This morning , forced myself to twickenham town centre for a coffee and shopping. There was a packing shop , but that disappeared . Thought it was there last week. Ebay for packing materials I guess. Believe it or not , I have quite a few large picture frames, that will need bubble wrap .
I will take your advice already given on the rest.
Will start by taking metros/ evening standard papers from the train stations
I have nothing at present . Phoned nationwide, but was waiting ages and gave up. I will go in to a branch on Monday asking for my account to be overdrawn by a large sum until late October . This will cover deposit / rent etc and I need a new sofa bed.
I intend to give my bed, and one of my sofas to a charity shop.
I went into benson bed shop in twickenham. Had a chat. Saw some lovely stuff in there.
Trouble is, delivery won't be speedy.
Saw stuff ( obviously brand new) from eBay . Delivery will be more or less perfect, but drivers won't deliver inside the front door.
Hopefully , if I get cash allowance, I could slide boxes up the 8 or 9 stairs to fit into my flat. Or get the people collecting my old furniture to bring that up for me.
Lying in bed. I often have the odd knapp in the afternoon myself.
White label lending ( they were called something else now), are closed on Saturday . Will call them on Monday .
Santander will post latest statement , which will reach me by midweek imho.
Not sure, but I think white label may make a sneaky charge of arounfm£30 for me to get the latest statement sent to me.Not impressed by that company.
Spoke to one of my friends, who told me it'll be cheaper to hire removal co. From Poole to twickenham. This is because they are basically going home so to speak. I will, look into it .
When I phoned white label, the automated voice told me that they tried calling me. They should've used my mobile no. Bad practice there.
Coming into my close, I see a few young lads with brand new fascia L boards . I assume I've woken up the property mgt co.and that we all will be having the fascias done. My solicitor has something to discuss with me regarding the property mgt co. Hopefully it's not too expensive for me.
LL , I am obviously worried about my financial situation.
If I got the ( at the time ) min of£400,000 I would be more confident.
In effect, I've lost a years salary.
I was hoping to go part time, or even being a permanent temp.
It's mainly flats that I'll be looking at. While I won't be paying £800 out of the £15,00 or so I earn a month, I will probably be looking to pay £100-125 a month service charges.
Having said all that, losing weight ,and finding my way are the most important things for me right now .
One worrying thing regarding my d m p,:
I intend to make a slightly lowball settlement figure ( say £10,000 instead of £25,000). I expect I may have to pay a lot more.
I was wondering if they found out I have money in my Acct. From the move, that they will automatically take the full amount anyway as it is in my account??
I was hoping to make an offer, once I move into rented accomodation telling them I temporarily quit employment due to ill health.
So many things to consider. No wonder I'm restless0 -
If you are on a DMP I am sure they cannot just take extra money. As to taking a reduced amount, they may not agree if they know you have a large amount of money.
If they have stopped interest and allowed much lower payments when money was tight, they may not want to take a further hit when you do have some. It may also depend on who the money is owed to - original company or an agency.
Stepchange has details on it so it may be worth speaking to them once you know what you have in the bank. It looks like they will do the negotiating for you.

If they say they will not agree right away it may be worth waiting until you have less and this will be after you have bought a place.Aiming to make £7,500 online in 20220 -
Thanks karonher.
My review is not due till Feb . I don't know if they know I've moved ,but won't say anything till the review date next year.
Just woke up , from a lovely sleep. Somebody decided to text me
Forgot to mention: dmp is with Payplan . (Barclays, Santander r b s which is now passed on to westcoot)0 -
Take a look at History Buff's thread. She's had a lot of success with getting companies (which buy the debts fo a lot less than face value), to accept low offers. I think around half to two thirds is suggested.CCs @0% £24k Dec 05 £19,621.41 Au £13400 S 12600 Oct £11,981 £9481 £7500 Nov £7250 D £7100 Jan 6950 F £5800 Mar£5400 May £4830 June £4660 July £4460 Aug £3200, S £900, £0 18/9/07 DFW Nerd 0420

Just thinking , of how I'm gonna separate the proceeds from the sale of my home:
I have a current account , another current account with nationwide ( both flex acts .) also mini cash is a. With nationwide .
Thinking about having a credit union Acct. My mum had one for years .
Basically, I will be trying extremely hard to keep everything separated , from basic living to emergency funds.
Btw every Acct has more or less pennies , not pounds in these acts.
Times are hard0 -
Dont forget to split your money so that you are covered if any f the banks go under
I think its no more than £75000 with any organisation, but its complicated that some are with the same organisation ..... check it out on this site .0 -
Thanks debs;)0

RENTING: Found a place that suits . I will need to try and secure it somehow. ON Monday , I will have to try and secure it .
This means I will have to phone the estate agents on Monday .
Also, Iwill go to branch of nationwide , asking them to allow me advance on the deposit and anything else needed.
If I ge that far, what about references??
I will be quitting my job, at short notice more or less.
Obviously, my friend in parkstone will be a reference. What else is needed?
Also, will the landlord wait for me ? I noticed on the ad, it was put on the market on Friday . Due to timescale , it would be the logical choice imho .
Please advise .
On right move : Blair avenue lower parkstone , £825 pm frost &co0
