Hi again AC.
Still arguing with tooth/drugs/Drs etc, so haven't been around.
Just a thought - I know someone who sold her house to the first buyer, and ended up homeless. Her solution was to put everything in storage and spend 6 months using Airbnb. It's a nomadic existence and might not appeal at all, but saved money and let her house hunt in what turned out to be a very expensive area. You will have guessed that she is a bit scatty, but her furniture was delivered to her new home yesterday.
And as you are much more organised it won't take you as long as 6 months.0 -
Thanks Wendy

Sorry to hear , you are still down in the mouth
We're all scatty to a degree . Glad things worked out for your friend
I've just got to accept , moving is stressful to say the least .
What I do know , is that I have to suffer a bit longer but this time next year things will be better .0 -

depends what you want AC, I live v close to the Hampshire/Surrey border on the mainline train route (1 hour into Waterloo).
Lot cheaper than where you are but I would have thought a most expensive than where you are looking. Having said that Portsmouth and Southsea are cheap and some areas are ok - many not.
PM if you are seriously thinking and want advice on areas - lived here my whole 39 years

I grew up in Surrey/Hampshire too- anywhere near Haslemere by chance, Anna? I would say that you're looking at around 300k for a 2 bed house in the Haslemere area, but agree that there are some lovely parts of Southsea- that are much more affordable.
Good luck
