Blimey......I'm exhausted just reading.:rotfl:
Don't overdo it and make yourself ill.
I think your Geordie friend is right, I really do think you are doing the best thing.
I returned back to my home city and I love it........property is affordable, the cost of living is good, the city is vibrant and cosmopolitan and the surrounding countryside is beautiful. I miss the sea and I ha e toyed with the idea of moving to the coast but my boys are here so I'm staying put for now.
I don't think you will regret it, yes it's a big step and you might feel a ?bit lost at first but I think the benefits will far outweigh any drawbacks.
I adore London but have never really been able to afford to live there - at least not comfortably. I could just about do it but I would have to live in a tiny bedsit and scrimp and do without for the pleasure and I don't think it's worth it.
As it is I will shortly be buying a house - cash. I am debt free, I can run a car, go on holidays, go out and about, eat well, buy more or less anything I want - within reason. If I want to go to london it's just 1hr 45 mins by train. I even have a rail card.;)
Seriously, what's not to like........
You too will soon be in this position and I am sure you will be happier and healthier for it. No debts, Less stress, better health, more leisure time.
Good luck with the estate agents
Btw I sold houses for a living ..........
My best advice for selling is to price a property competitively and make it look beautiful. You will have the punters fighting over it and the offers will come flooding in.
Good luck.
.Just stay focussed On your end goal and all will be well.
Btw - a lady knocked on my door the other day, around mid 50s. She had put an offer on the house next door and wanted to scope the neighbours. She is moving out of London too.
The Boomers are on the move.........ha, ha.
Remember you are never too old to make a fresh start and life is just one big adventure.0 -
Finished! ( okay , I've still got to tidy up flat.)
Totally worn out. Sent emails to 2 estate agents. The other one had a crap website for iPads .This was at 10.50 pm .
Can't afford a new carpet . The Windows need cleaning . Being in an upstairs maissonnette , makes that difficult .
Oh well, just waiting to be contacted0 -
Well done........can you get a window cleaner.
Carpet - is it worth steam cleaning it.
Good luck.0 -
Mmmm. Don't know the cost of a window cleaner.
I'm thinking of maybe getting someone to clean carpets if estate agent insists . Plus it's gomnna cost me £150 to fix my washing machine whenever . Plus of course my trip to branksome in 2 weeks time.
One reason why it'll be good to sell. Not constantly looking over my shoulder .0 -
Window cleaner should be less than £10. I pay £7 for a whole house.0

Carpets, you can hire a machine called a rug doctor - around £50. They come up really well.
What's wrong with the washing machine, how old is it. at £150 I would be tempted to buy a new one.0 -
Cheap for a window cleaner. I hear they charge per window where I live.
Maybe estate agent can help .
Washing machine has something in itit's easy to use , old but brilliant .
It's a washer dryer.
I'll see what estate agent says about the carpet .
I've booked Friday and Monday off to tidy garden , and clutter.
Also to have a lie in if possible0 -
Carpet cleaner, look on Groupon they often have offers for cleaning 2 carpets.
Window cleaners are per window for me in a GU postcode - having said that I'm about to go on the market and am getting them and the carpet cleaners in 2 days before the open house for a pretty good price, worth haggling though!0 -

Blimey, that's a bargain, I'm £40 for a 4 bed in our area so I don't often get it done0 -
Seems like I have a real bargain.....
Mind I need to add in the mugs of tea and the choccy biscuits. :rotfl:0
