    Is that a good weird.......:rotfl:

Anyway, good plan. Have a good time and just go with an open mind.
  • Weird in a good way ;)
Trouble is , the company is having a departmental type move.
I'm watching some of these arrogant so& sos' , with scowls of displeasure.
Of course my arrogant colleague is trying to make me look small in front of people again .
I'm more energetic and ott happy in comparison .
They don't know my plans ;) lovely !

The new chairman is having a round robin talk on a 1-1 basis until mid July .
Interesting really , as my appt has been put back to June 2nd.
I'm gonna try and stalk it till July and give my notice in as near as I can to that time .
What I will say , is that my position could be done on a part time basis.
That will save them money and my colleague can take a cut in his wages when I'm gone ;)
TBH they may be think g of that already . I would volunteer for redundancy if that's the case :)

Btw my miserable self centred brother will be told on sat of my plans;)
    He won't like it . I don't care anymore ;)

AC. That sounds like fighting talk......:rotfl:

Good for you, shows you are feeling better, stronger and more positive. It's all out there - waiting for you - life - in all it's messy, unpredictable and exciting glory.

Making a new start can be a bit scary - of course it can - but just think of all those doors that are opening up to you now that you have taken those first few steps.

The possibilities are endless as new horizons open up. Just think of all the new experiences you will have, the adventures, the fun times, the new friends to make.......maybe even meet the love of your life.:D

Tomorrow I'm going to stay with my new friend for a few days. She's 23 years younger than me but we have loads of shared interests and things in common. Just what I need - new young blood to keep me young at heart and stop me from becoming a boring old stuck in the mud. :rotfl:

We met on the cruise. Going on that holiday by myself was a big step for me and yes I was nervous. I was 64, a new widow and going on holiday all by myself for the first time ever. It was a step into the unknown but I did it, survived and had a good time. If I hadnt done it I wouldn't have made any new friends.......;)

Sometimes in life you just have to take a leap of faith and if our families don't get it or don't approve then that's just hard luck.

It's your life not your brothers.....;)
  • Well lesson, I have not felt this good mental strength wise for ages ;)
Amazing about ages: tomorrow I'm having a beer with a chap that used to work here . He is 32? I'm old enough to be his dad ,)
He became a dad himself recently .
Looking forward to seeing him again. We went to see a couple of bands together ( korn& primus). We are different generation headbangers I guess.
Good people make all the difference .

You have a good time with your new friend ;)

    Thanks, I will do.
  • Just read the whole thread AC.

Really impressed with how you'll soon be able to change your username to Anticipating Change or Accepting Challenges!

I'm definitely not a city or suburbs person, so Poole per se would hold little attraction for me, except that it's by the sea. ( A friend has just returned from a great bird watching trip to Brownsea Island. )

BUT as a non-driver (had to give up due to sight issues) I'm always interested in public transport, and so did a bit of googling. It seems Branksome would be ideal for you. Own train station. Frequent buses and trains throughout the Poole/Bournemouth area which will keep employment options as open as possible.
PLUS it's so easy to get to other places:
    - London Waterloo only 2hours.
    - Trains west to Dorchester and Weymouth. So easy to get to superb walking country from Dorcester, Wareham, Upwey, Weymouth. Even on Sundays.
    - Jurassic Coast X53? bus Poole-Exeter, so easy to get to places like Bridport and Lyme Regis.
I love that area of Dorset, and tho I'd prefer to live in a small market town like Dorchester, Sherborne or Shaftesbury, I can see why Poole could be right for you AND still have easy access to all these other wonderful spots.

I've even found you a flat to rent!
Ignoring studio flats, as one-room living can get tedious:
this seems typical price for a one-bed flat.

Though if it saves paying for separate storage until you buy somewhere, a 2-bed flat might also make sense.

Hope some details help it seem much more real!
  • Thanks Tuesday ;) that is really nice of you .
Will check when at home ;)
Glad you found the thread interesting .;) if I don't get a sore head in the morning ( my new pal likes a few ) , then painting will start tomorrow.

Still feeling strange , and would you believe impatient ;)

Finished painting. Spent the whole weekend doing so.
Next step is to clean the walls, skirting board , door frames etc.
That should hopefully be done today.
Heavy going, due to my condition.
If that gets done today, then , I will email 3 estate agents and they should see me Tuesday onwards.
    Tense time .
Spoke to one of my best friends , who's a Geordie .He went back to Newcastle around the year 2000. He thinks it's the best thing I'll do. Let's hope so.
