  • Thanks gally:)
I've worn you all out :) must be one of the longest threads in m s e .:)
I may have put my ( sore) foot in it , when I mentioned to the solicitor that
I want to buy another property while selling .
He won't act on anything anyway, until the survey has been done.

When I went to Poole back in May, there was a nice road in Westbourne which I liked . What I may do, is rent there and start from there.

Oh dear lessonlearned I do apologise. You would think that having so enjoyed the "if" quote I would have remembered its source.

Back to AC. Have you ever sold on eBay, Gumtree etc? A bit of a faff, but I bet the Pilates machine would sell.
  • I've sold loads on eBay , and still up to my eyeballs :)
Believe it or not , bcause of their size ( and collection only ), the Pilates machines don't really sell for very much .
I was thinking of using it before the move for a couple of weeks .
On the other hand , I could get rid with a 99p starting price :)

AC. I would love your pilates machine but as you say by the Time I drove down to pick it up it wouldnt be worth it.

One of my items on my wish list when I come to buy is room for a mini gym.....either a spare room, garage, or at least a garden big enough for some sort of outbuilding.

In our old family home we converted our garage into a gym, the whole family used it every day. I was actually quite fit then.

My hosts in Belguim are seriously wealthy. They have a proper pool house, complete with a large pool, jacuzzi, sauna, showers, a lounge area with sound system and even a spare bedroom.

After a day's sightseeing. It was bliss to swim a few lengths and then laze in the jacuzzi. :rotfl: I swam every day. Alas it was only a couple of days, a couple of weeks of that and I would be a lot fitter than I am now.

No need to apologise Wendym. I'm glad you enjoyed it. I just think its so apt at times, for both bullies and compulsive worriers.

Dull and grey here so going to carry on with my declutteringand sorting out "stuff". I'm getting a nice pile together ready for the chazzers and the tip.

AC. Hope the foot is a little better. Don't worry about what you said to the solicitor. It don't make any difference. As far as the legal work is concerned Buying and selling together is not substantially different from having a gap in between. In fact it's easier for the solicitor too as well as for you. Less pressure to co-ordinate everything.
  • Thanks LL
So, spoke to Geordie friend today . He insists I get signed off as unfit for work . What I may do , is ask them to sign me off for a year .
For obvious reasons, that doesn't sound too bad.
I've always been working since I left school( less than 6 months unemployed).
I don't want to live my life the Jeremy Kyle way iyswim .
If I did get signed off, it would only be for a short period .
    I dunno ..

Regarding renting after selling : I am totally skint . Just thinking how I can move into a place when I have no deposit .

My life is full of questions :)

One of those man-with-a-van sites, perchance?

AC You are overthinking again. ;)

Re that rental deposit. Don't commit yourself to anything until you have exchanged contracts. There's no need. Then allow as long as you can get away with between exchange and legal completion. Just explain your predicament to your solicitor.

Once you have exchanged then your bank will be able to advance you the money you need. All they need is evidence from your solicitor. It's no biggie.

Did you manage to get an appt with your doctor. How do you actually feel today - apart from your foot.

It does sound as if you need some time off. You really need to discuss this with your medical team.

AC - yes life is always full of questions. Questions are good, they are what drive us forward and what spurs us to success. The day we stop asking questions is the day we forget to live.

There is always an answer to every question (maybe not always the one we want to hear) and there are few problems in this world that are insurmountable, although again sometimes the solutions can be unpalatable.

    Edited to Add

You have already found the solutions to your changed circumstances and you have bravely grasped the nettle. All this uncertainity is just part and parcel of the transition to your new life.

You are on the cusp of a great new life.....just hang on and this time next year you will be living the life of Riley.

I think I am going to have to start a Life Coaching sideline business......

And I shall want you to give me glowing references.:D as my first (albeit non fee paying client) :rotfl:

I have had a squiffy tummy today - I foolishly ate some bread last night. My own stupid fault. So I'm just lolling on the sofa cuddling the cat.

Im a complete ignoramus about tecky stuff......how do they work.

I have only recently discovered the joys of sofa shopping. I am getting quite proficient now. :rotfl: - sooooo much better than trawling round the shops, battling the crowds.

I watched Kevin McLeod last night - all about folk living in the middle of nowhere.....I'm very tempted. :rotfl:
  • Thanks LL :)
I feel great TBH . Okay, I'm sitting under my ceiling fan .
Humid, when I went out food shopping and having coffee.
Funny that, I felt very mellow last week.. Then I got the 2 offers .

Yeah, I think I'll have a talk with my doctor. It may be next week , or the week after.
My condition makes you tired. I'm often asleep( as is my colleague)!, a couple of times a day .
    I'm enjoying the quietness.
Yep, sign me up to testify how good you are as a life coach . :)

Dodgy tummy ? It's probably garlic.. Not bread :)

    AC, LL can't have gluten!

LL, you can't have gluten!!! Crumbs!

I would post a link but "advertising". If you just google "man with a van" you will get results. You input your post code, the post code you want the item collected from, and some website or other co-ordinates different, random deliveries from and to similar places so you pay only a share of a courier fee, rather than the whole lot... I think. I would not trust this type of thing for moving house, though some people do as insurance is an issue, but for moving one, non-fragile item, it could be a thing, if it suits. HTH.
