  • Right.... took everyones advice on board. Found a fan oven element on ebay for £16.99 and decided to try it.... And it worked!! So I guess that means I can buy some blinds after all.

Thanks for the push in the right direction.... I've bought so oven pride so it should be looking as good as new tomorrow.

Never managed any ebaying today.... To much pain from trapped nerves to concentrate.

  • Forgot to say, went to Iceland tonight and after I paid for my stuff I got a voucher for a pack of their free high range mince pies. They should have been £1.50. Not adding the money as a saving because I would never have bought them (I make my own) but its always nice to get something for free! :D

Well done with the oven CP and pleased you saved some money there. Sorry to hear about the trapped nerves - sounds awfully painful and hope soon improves

Well - after a third phone call I think I might have solved the freezer problems. It seems they gave them my phone number incorrectly. I should now get a phone call the morrow - I'm not holding my breath. At least I have £8 compensation from them.

About the over-heating lap-tops. My DS gave me a tip when I bought mine and so I have a cooling stand. There are expensive ones on the market but I got mine in £land for - yes £1. It is a fold-out tripod thing, which sets the laptop at a slight angle, better for typing as well, and allows full circulation of air under the machine. It has lugs at the front so the lappy doesn't slide forward as well. It stays cool all day :j

Interest in today from investments and a couple of small surveys and the £8 from Mr T

Hope you all have a wonderful Wednesday

i replied to you cbc, and then your post moved. :)

Yes, I know, it threw me a bit to see your reply before my post was up:rotfl:. I wanted to edit it and re-send and you must have already seen the original and replied. It's a bit odd though as when I've edited something before once it's been posted it stays in the same place.

For those selling books etc to the various trade in sites - I've been really impressed with how quickly Ziffit paid out, with funds in my PayPal account just over a week after sending the boxes.

Thanks for the advice, TheBanker, it's always good to have recommendations from other users:T.

I opted for Music Magpie for my CDs today as their prices were way above what Ziffit were offering. Nobody wants any of my books whenever I try:( but if I have another go I'll definitely try Ziffit first.

Thanks for that, Lynne, sounds exactly what I need and very MSE if I can get one in £land:j

Just wanted to say how much I enjoy your posts. You're always so cheery, friendly and supportive to everyone:A. I hope you have a wonderful Wednesday too. Crikey, have just noticed the time. It is Wednesday already!

Well done on the compensation for the freezer debacle:T. I hope they deliver the freezer soon and you don't have any more wasted and frustrating time hanging about waiting for the delivery men

lynne - so sorry :( thought you had freezer delivered today and was busy stocking it up :( fingers crossed for tomorrow.

am happy with my washing machine, although it seems to have developed a dent where there wasn't one before and the plastic casing seems to have some weird stuff on it, like glue? but hey the washing machine works, not mine, I rent, so I will ignore dents and weird stuff on casing. It is nice to walk in the kitchen and not see it all lit up like a christmas tree all the time.

I bought some eco balls for it today, or might just be one lol, from amazon. I am going to try to save money on all sides going forward including the washing stuff for the house, and things like cleaning products.

CP - I have been told poundland sell something similar to Mr Muscle Oven cleaner for a pound and it works just as brilliantly. I have bought some... but not motivated myself to do it yet.... :rotfl::cool::o

Well done on the element and being able to afford the new blinds. Love this thread, so much diy/mse and positive posts from everyone.

    Hope you feel better soon.

I managed 20 listings out of my 100 listings. poor show on my part, but I hate doing this. But the money is good if it all sells.

I really must start using turbo lister and keep stuff on it for the next 100 free listings :rotfl: and then it won't be such a hassle for me.

so target now try and upload 5 a day to turbo lister ready.....

£3 from pinecone. Have ebay sale to but need to work out money after fees etc.

Thanks for all the Ziffit info everyone, I'm going to give that a try. I have £12 interest to add today and I also have laid a cunning plan to get a new phone but to buy it outright on a 0% cc and save up the money in a regular saver. I even applied via topcashback which should get me £25.60 (feeling very Mse!:money:)
This will mean I can cut my monthly phone bill, pay a better price for the phone, and it will be insured because of buying it on a cc, I believe.

    £81/300
