  • what's a fair rate for a babysitter? We have finally decided to pay a sitter to have lo for a few hours occasionally so oh and I can go out together sometimes. She's 17 almost 18. dgd is 2 1/2 and will be asleep. Obviously I can't rule out that she might wake up but she never has, once she's down she's out for the count

  • Hi all

Bit worried that we havent heard from Bob. Hope she is OK and recovering from the lurgy.

Cant help you dnm, we have been lucky and never needed to pay a babysitter, hope someone else can help.

We went out for the day today, free entry into a museum and a wander round the shops without buying anything. We did have lunch out though which ended up costing £25. We all ate so much that no-one wanted more than a sandwich for tea. Even though I had budgeted for this I still felt slightly guilty.

And choclover I have had the same issues with my OH but he is much better than he used to be.

Looking forward to another day off work tomorrow without spending any more than absolutely necessary!

  • Evening all. I see it's been a busy day today on here.
Hope Bob is doing ok - I'm worried that we haven't heard from her in a few days.
Jojo - congratulations on the job.
And welcome to the new posters on the thread. It's great to see so many people joining in.
DNMS - I have absolutely no idea of the going rate for a babysitter I'm afraid. DH and I go out together about 3x a year and I book my mam well in advance to look after her.

    [STRIKE]:D Check banking
:D Leave the heating off (full stop - me and the kids are out all day :p)
[STRIKE][/STRIKE]:D Sort my money envelopes ready for the budget between now and Christmas (too tight for my liking)[/STRIKE]
[STRIKE]:D Leave dh a list of things to do while we are out, including ringing the mental health team[/STRIKE]
    [STRIKE]:D Visit my friend
:D nsd as my friend is cooking for us
:D Be spoilt rotten by my friend
    :D Do not stress
:D Put a load of washing in before I go out (but it is raining so no hope of drying)
    [/STRIKE]:D Do some exercise
[STRIKE]:D Remember to take spare dressings and nitrile gloves to my friend's house so I can at least help with the washing up if she's doing all the cooking.[/STRIKE]
Have a good day everyone :D

I am officially spoilt rotten and full to bursting. It's been a good day, but I'm quite tired now and hoping for a restful night.

Savvy Shopper! I've been Money Tipped!
    Hi All

Sorry to worry anyone. I have been feeling dreadful so not had the energy to do much aside from the absolute must dos. Doctor didn't put a label on it but agreed the sinuses were the root of the issue so I am on antibiotics for those, plus painkillers and cough meds too. He was lovely and said that my immune system is basically non existent due to the baby and hence why whatever this is has hit me like a brick.

I am sure I will be back to full strength soon.

    Thanks everyone

    Bob
