Wednesday 28th October. What small DFW things will you be dong today?

When we start out on the DFW trail we do loads of "big stuff" that makes quite a difference to our situation. These include having our lightbulb moment, cutting up the credit cards and cancelling Sky and the gym .
But once we have done the bigger stuff, we often feel that we are not making the same amount of progress, when in fact the small steps are helping us form good financial habits and helping us get closer everyday to staying in control and becoming debt free, or staying debt free.
Examples could be hanging washing out instead of using the tumble dryer or leaving your purse/wallet at home to avoid the risk of spending.
So be proud of those small steps, they really are important

Early start for me today. DD2 woke up about half an hour ago  despite my best efforts DD1 has also been woken, she's still a bit sleepy -I know how she feels :rotfl: although it does have its positives as were snuggled on the sofa and the cat can't believe his luck as he has our bed to himself so early
hope everyone is feeling well, hugs to those that aren't. list for today:
Check Cashback for DD birthday present has tracked.
Keep eye out for amaz0n voucher from cb company and add to account
Washing just finishing on cheap leccy, will hang on airer shortly
Lunch and snack to work, dinner from stores
Meal plan for rest of week and next (butcher order coming Sunday)
Work for me, using a demo car I have been lent - it's yummy (and has enough fuel in it for me to get to work
)
DH used above car to get to work this morning before me too
Volunteer work - didn't do this yesterday
Cancel a monthly subscription
Mindset training
Orders for a couple of customers and message them
Think that's about all, have a good day everyone.

Hi Jonno,
Cheers for the kick off!
You've just reminded me I didn't do my volunteer work yesterday...
Big hello to everyone else :hello:
DNMS - good luck with your job app. For what it's worth I can totally see you running your own fab sewing business from home in those hours when DGD snoozes! I have been reading Leonie Dawson's stuff recently - so fully motivated! You can make $$$ from your hobbies
The house is coming along ok - a lot more to do than we wanted to/thought we had to, but we'll get there.
Foxgloves - hope you had a nice anniversary! What about local restaurants for the pears???
Today is operation wallpaper man!
OK, obvs not the most MSE as I could save my $$$ and do it myself but am totally not confident so would end up being a waste of money when I had to scrape it off and start again!
Not much else from me today - just the usual gubbins like taking packed lunch etc.
Catch up soon!
xx0 -
Thanks for the start Jonno - hope you manage to get the kiddies down later & get sleep with them too
Good luck with the papering La Escocesa
So for today I have
Proactive MSE-ing- Complaint to Co-op to ask for my money
- Draw up black out box list ready for assembly (in case of power cuts). Not paranoid but live pretty rurally
- Order 3 months worth of medication to see me over Christmas / New year
- Draw up Christmas list - pressies for who & what are they getting (and what do we have in already) - needs to be done
Round tuit (as in I'll get a round tuit) not strictly money saving but clears my mind - Clean out bill drawer
- Post on here once a day 3/28
- More Walking Dead tonight via Amazon Prime - didn't realise these boxed set things were so addictive
Have a good day y'allDebts 07/12/2021

Morning
thanks for starting the thread jonno :A (please can I gently ask all starters of the thread if they can put a
in the title? It's been a tradition I'm very fond of - makes it so much easier to spot when bleary eyed! - and has been part of the thread for the 8 years I've been posting!) I've been up since before dawn too. Got woke up as needed the loo - eek the glamour of getting older
Well today is the last day of the week I have dgd - I've changed her days to Thurs & Friday's as now have a regular appt on a Friday. Yesterday we had full on playing ALL DAY LONG. Today we are nipping into town to get a few little bits to make her dressing up cat outfit for the Halloween party at the CM's tomorrow. So that will be our afternoon activities. Need to have a root around at home and see what we have already to keep the cost as low as possible. Kicking myself I didn't plan this out better and get the bits online a couple of weeks ago...
Small things for today:
* [STRIKE]checked banking[/STRIKE]
* [STRIKE]did some money shuffling (to ensure I get the interest on both accounts next month
)[/STRIKE]
* nip into town for the above items. Park in free parking
* doing a leaf collage with dgd at some point today using leaves collected yesterday
* all meals from stores
* [STRIKE]work out what to have for dinner. Want something easy - possibly jacket potatoes[/STRIKE] jackets & a lo tupperware of chilli
* roast pumpkin seeds while cooking jackets pots & buns
* interview prep & get outfit ready
* read through ms assignment for tomorrow
* might list a couple of bits on fleabay if I get time
* an hour in the garden. Not sure what I'll get to do as the forecast says it's going to rain. Might just clean all of my buckets in the kitchen sink
* [STRIKE]read martin's email[/STRIKE]
Ok that's all I need to do I think! Going to go and get ready any minute now...DF as at 30/12/16

Morning all

Thanks for starting us off Jonno, guess the clocks changing has messed up the children's sleep patterns a bit? I used to dread it when mine were small!
Hope Bob is ok?
And Mr and Mrs F had a lovely anniversary meal
List for today:
Walk to post office to collect a parcel that couldn't be delivered yesterday (it will be a small display item that I have ordered for my business, nothing very exciting!)
Take the dog with me (two jobs done for the price of one lol)
Also take along an old pair of shoes and put them in the clothing bank on the way past
HM meals from stores
A bit of gardening if it is dry - I need to take out the courgette plant and plant some cabbages
Make a loaf in the bread maker
Make a cake of some kind, as the tin is empty
Put rest of boxes of sales stock away in the loft
Put things like books, toys, shoes etc away and tidy up
Heating on only in airing cupboard and bathroom
Not light wood burner till after dark
Measure the dog and order him a coat - I have been putting it off as he is still growing, but it is getting cold for him now (very small and lots of bald bits :rotfl:)
Right, more coffee and then get on

Good morning everyone

Thanks for the start Jonno.
I'm up and about on my own, enjoying a cuppa and the news on tv to myself before the kids wake up. I have a full day today in that I'm off to visit a friend who lives about an hour away, and she is going to spoil me rotten all day.
Other things:
Check banking  I am horrified at how skint I am this month and it's still 2 days till payday. Good job the car has enough petrol.
Leave the heating off (full stop - me and the kids are out all day
)
Sort my money envelopes ready for the budget between now and Christmas (too tight for my liking)
Leave dh a list of things to do while we are out, including ringing the mental health team
Visit my friend
nsd as my friend is cooking for us
Be spoilt rotten by my friend
Do not stress
Put a load of washing in before I go out (but it is raining so no hope of drying)
Do some exercise
Remember to take spare dressings and nitrile gloves to my friend's house so I can at least help with the washing up if she's doing all the cooking.
Have a good day everyone
Not giving up
Working hard to pay off my debt
Time to take back control

Foxgloves I spent a good chunk of last night and this morning while I was up early reading all of your garden blog posts! Feel like I know you a little bit more! Your garden is so inspiring! And am going to give your jammy buns a bash in a bit. Be good to clear out a jar from the fridge!DF as at 30/12/16

Morning everyone
Ah the luxury of not going to work! We have had tea and bacon butties, going to get a shower in a minute and get dressed then we can go out somewhere. DH wants to go into the big city and do some touristy things but will be a challenge not to spend too much, especially if we are near the shops.
Washing over the heated airer as the weather is rubbish. No heating on, its not really cold in the house and we are going out anyway.
Jonno I remember those early starts so well. Even at 14 my DS isnt one for lying in. Hope you have an easy day!
Have a good day everyone x0 -
Good morning to you all.
I've checked these daily threads of this title since I've joined and so it's only fair that I chip in. As a newbie my list may be a bit all over the place but I vow to come back on later tonight and check it off:
- brought my breakfast and lunch into work which id usually buy so I've saved myself £5-£7 already.
- take pictures and plan selling bits and bobs on eBay. Need to source a cheap and effective way to package things. Anyone got tips? I have zero spare cardboard boxes
- bookmark a list of companies job vacancies page so I can start to frequently check for a better paid job in a company I WANT to work for.
- organise a Christmas list of who I am buying for and what I am buying so that I can budget from Nov and Dec pay.
- go to the gym and use the shower and shower gel/shampoo/hairdryer there.
- if I have time and I don't see the GF then I'll hopefully make some homemade muesli.
- prep my breakfast and lunch for tomorrow
- iron my shirts!!!
Have a good day everyone. Hope the weather is better were you are than here in Glasgow. Heavy rain!0
