Morning all!
OH started mist coating the living room (freshly plastered) and it makes the room so much brighter already! Can't wait until its done and I can get a bit of order back in the house! Plus side is that the radiator is off the wall in the living room (where we spend most of our evenings) so at the moment there's no sense in putting the heating on!
Re ebay - for clothing I use bin liners. But obviously if its anything more delicate that wouldn't work!
Today I have/will:-
* Check banks
* Transfer money to relevant "pots" which I should have done on Monday before I forget what goes where!
* Do washing up
* Turn straighteners off at the wall
* No TV on
* Take lunch to work including left overs from dinner last night
* Order xmas present
* Check FPL
* Earn more on OnePoll
* Re upload receipt to shoptize
* Dinner from stores
* Read instruction manual for new washing machine
That's everything I can think of for now. Hope you all have a great day.Debt as at 5 June 2023 - £15,600.89

Morning all you moneysavers!
Bob - Hope you are OK?
Mr & Mrs Foxgloves - Happy anniversary for yesterday - the meal sounds lovely. It was ours last week - but a bit longer than you - 49 years! We celebrated with a lovely day out ( a long walk in the Welsh countryside with a picnic. The weather was fantastic too).
I managed to find more walnuts on my early morning dog walk. They're just lying in the grass verge and no-one else seems to bother to pick them up.
Well, at last I've finished making the green tomato chutney, but what fun & games it turned out to be! I had 10lbs of tomatoes to chop up first and cook till soft, then they had to be sieved. By the time I'd added chopped onions, chopped apples, sugar, raisins and sultanas, + all the spices my preserving pan was very full. OH then commented that he thought my ceramic hob might not be strong enough to bear all that weight (the pan is very heavy even when empty)! So, we decided to drive to MIL's and ask if we could use her gas cooker. Picture me sat on the passenger seat of the car, pan wrapped in a huge plastic bag while OH drove the mile through town, over sleeping policeman and trying to avoid the potholes! Then, after the chutney had cooked, we had to leave it there for a few hours to cool before we could take it back home. All I need to do now is label it. Just hope it's worth all that effort!
Cycling into town in a little while as I need to pop into a shop and ask if she is willing to sell of my craft items again this year.
I've been thinking of setting myself a challenge of 'a freebie a day' in the new year. It could be something foraged, a coin picked up, a free sample, or even a survey done or a library book borrowed. If I lived near a supermarket, it could have been a discarded price match coupon, but I have even picked one of those up miles from any supermarket. And if I didn't get a freebie myself, I could always give something away such as a charity shop donation.

Hi all
Not been on the forum in a long while, well I have been lurking just not making any posts and while reading everyone's achievements and goals does motivate me I think actually being more proactive on the forum would give me the kick up the backside that I need sometimes, so here goes.
So far today I will/have -
Go to the gym (Done)
Phone up mobile phone supplier and see what is happening with my complaint and my refund
Apply for another Graduate job (Have completed so far, Uncle works in the department so going tonight for some tips on the application before submitting)
Transfer over BILs phone DD into his bank account now that he is working
Transfer over FILs phone DD into his bank account (I know two phone bills that aren't mine - crazy!)
Eat lunch at parents FOC.
Overtime in work - (haven't done overtime today but have applied for some next week that'll go into my December wages)
Download YNAB on desktop and have a play around with it to try and get my mind focussed for next month
Read Martin's email
That's all I can think of just now, off back into work for the remainder of my shift I'll post again tonight
Hope everyone has a great day

For ebaying more delicate items, the cardboard wine boxes that supermarkets round here leave out for the taking are quite good, so long as you pad whatever it is well. Assuming the item fits of course!
I save any suitable packaging from items I have received, too (jiffy bags can be useful). Or do they chuck away packaging materials at work? The office where I used to work was a good source, and they were only too happy for people to take it as it freed up space in the waste bins that they had to pay for!0 -

wow I pop out for a couple of hours....
Welcome JHiggins91 & SpekySquarehead :hello: welcome to the gang
Jojo excellent news on your promotion!
SpekySquarehead re ebay I do what Dawn has said, anything that comes through the post in a bag/box/jiffy I keep to repurpose. In terms of delicate items I pad a box with newspaper/bubblewrapp (from £land!). I have definitely used bags when there has been nothing else to use. Boxes depending on size I do pick up wherever I see themDF as at 30/12/16
