Right, sign me up. This is going to be a complete guestimate, but I'll go for £300 for my first shopping challenge, starting 3 Sept. Used to spend £100+ a week, just on food, but am better than in the past. Under the challenge, I'm gonna target food, alcohol, toiletries and pet supplies. I know I'm spending way more than that but don't think the target is unrealistic.
I'm terrible with money, but this thread has reallly given me hope. Thank you all!

Hi
Ever since i have entered the DFW/OS way of life i have been doing my shopping daily. This does not seem to be working for me so i am going to revert to how i used to do my shopping with a few tweaks.
I have done a 4 week menu plan that also includes a plan for the kids as they do not eat the same stuff as us. So basically i have an 8 week plan.
I have gone through the menu and have tried to do a list that includes everthing i need plus toiletries, cleaning stuff etc. Went on Mysupermarket.com and priced it up and it came to about £205. Going to do my shop Friday and hopefully this will work better and will only need to top up with milk, bread and veg/fruit.
Will let you know how i get on.

I would love to do the September Grocery Challenge...fingers crossed as I am a Grocery Challenge Virgin.
Right for me, my DP and two greedy labradors I am aiming for £35 p/w and £140 for the September challenge.
That will include all food, dog foodies, household goods and toiletries.
My challenge starts from Thursday 30th August.
Good luck y'all. X x X x X0 -
Alot happened in August which made it very difficult to think about spending DHs injury, i was doing my work and his work, then 2 very busy weekends for the camp and last week told that the mole i had removed was a melonoma and may need further trreatment!
So here we are, September starts for me tomorrow and although we didn't stick to budget in August i am really proud that we made a significant difference to our spending and have already been able to get some dollars for our hols.
Roll on September and i promise to log on here everyday to admit my spending. Its like AA isn't it!0 -
Hi
I will be joining you in Sept. I tend to budget weekly (am on a fairly tight budget really and would love to reduce this) I always aim for £80 a week for 2 adults, 2 Children, 2 Cats, 2 Rabbits, 2 Hamsters.. I always seem to spend over this mainly due to nipping into local mini store for "a pint of milk" each time I spend at least 5-10 pounds...So as reccomended I will start keeping all receipts and will tot up at the end of each week... Here Goes....

May Grocery challenge £150 136/1500 -
Thanks, Lil-Me, for the link. As you can see, I have decided to start on Friday. I am going to take cash out each Friday and see how far I can make it go! We have a veggie box every other week at this time of the year (we have lots coming from the garden), so that will take up £40 of my £300 straight away.
I have £7 in my purse, so I can have a trial run for three days with that. The children are still on holiday so that could cause problems!
I was telling my Mum about this challenge today. She is a champion budgeter, and she is going to offer moral support as well.
I just need to do some meal plans now............MFiT-T4 #63

Im in again
I'm going to budget for £90 again and see if I can come under this month, as usual it is just for me and to include everything.
Will be attempting a store cupboard challenge this month too as I have lots of stuff in the freezer /cupboards that has been there for ages.
So hopefully with all the extra bog offs I bought in Aug I should be okJune Grocery Challenge 270.80/250July Grocery Challenge 0/3000 -
Hi this is the first time at trying the grocery challenge - and I sort of practised last month.:rotfl:
My real aim is to get the shop down to £200
I was nearish with the main shop but didn't include trips to the co op for bread and milk.:o
So I am going for a first target of £240
I am considering a bread maker but my tiny kitchen has less than a metre of work surface and it would end up being stored on the floor!!
The challenge will include food and drink, cleaning stuff, and nappies DS2 close to being potty trained but not there yet!
Am very determined to do it

First bill has come in at £95.19p will be good to see how well this months goes as i am making a lot more from scratch and things that i have never cooked before but even with the extra ingredient's i needed to buy so far it looks ok.Still TryingGrocery challenge July 2016
