Hi, am joining the challenge for the first time this month. I have budgeted £260 for the month but hope to come in below this. Any left overs will be fed to Penny the Mortgage Pig so I think my challenge each month will be how much I have left to feed her. Its a five week month which is tricky, so am aiming for around £25 spare at the end of the month. Will try meal planning which should also help with the weight loss! Good luck to everyone!Light Bulb Moment 01 May 20070

Hi all, I had doubts about doing the challenge this month as I,m stay at DD1s while she,s on hols, and also going away for a week myself. However I have told her not to stock up as I would bring stuff from freezer for myself and GD. So what I plan to do is, not set an amount, but just see how little I can spend without being a scrooge, after all I,ll have a 13 yr old to cope with lol:T:jDabbler in all things moneysaving.Master of none:o
Well except mastered my mortgage 5 yrs early :T:j

)
Good luck all!!:DMortgage free as of 12/08/20!

Hiya
weel, tried out LIDL yesterday on a friend's recommendation. Sadly, it's not for me. Spent £35.00 and worked out I'd probably saved about £4 - £5 BUT, it's a 15 mile return trip and, because they didn't do all the stuff I needed, I've had to go to Mr T's today to get the rest.
Never mind, you have to try these things don't you.
Still need to spend about £3.00 on a few bits for my big shop so will be over budget for the week but not worried yet - it will even itself out.
YELLOWMONKEY - just caught sight of something on your sig that I'm curious about....what's the "unecessary £10 challenge"?0 -

Basically it is what it says. I look at it as being my pocket money for the week to buy things that are a treat for me not that i need them. Just nice to have.

welcome to all the new people joining this month This will be my 4th month of this challenge and it has done me so much good.
MR T arrived with the 2nd half of my shopping could not believe that with all the meat etc that i got the bill was only £79.33 ( had £14 in bog off etc and £25 off in coupons) it was so worth splitting my shopping this month to come a few days apart to reap all the points and coupons. So far the Tesco shopping has cost me only £174.52 with that i got 1200 points and £25 money off too am a happy girly today.
did pop to the little tesco on Tuesday as needed some brushes or rather OH did to wash the bricks of the new extension or something and did pick up some mince on offer and raisins for my DS so have another £7.50 to add.Still TryingGrocery challenge July 2016

I'm going for £120 this month for me and the 2 cats. I've upped it from last month's budget as I need all the 'big stuff' -washing powder, loo rolls and all the essentials that last a long time. I've really run my cupboards down during August too.
One big shop at Mr T tomorrow to use my extra points vouchers then the remainder of the budget will be divided by four for weekly cash allowance in the shopping purse. I spent quite a lot on chocolate and things to make birthday and visiting cakes etc last month and have decided that kind of thing can come out of my pocket money purse in September. Might help me shift the extra 7lb I gained learning to cook from scratch again!
Good luck to you all, newbies and regulars alike.One debt v 100 days Part 14 £400/£400
