Shower room scrubbed, kitchen floor swabbed, attic stuff sorted, office sorted for occasional lodger, garden leaves raked up ... er, that's it. And it took all day. Hmmf.

That is SERIOUS flying - cleaning UNDER the bath!

Been to sister's with Mum. Brought more valuables 'to sell' and scrounged a side/lamp table off them. Mum drove. She has a new car. The table only just fit in the boot. I asked her why she hadn't bought a van.

    Apparently, next time, I'm driving.:rotfl:

They have two 'Welsh' dressers - one matches my dining table (because it came from my sister;)) so I am having it but they are going to be selling the other. (They each had one when they met). So anyone in Northampton area wanting a dresser in excellent condition from a no smoking household I can let you know where there is one. It's not an old one, modern, pine.

I might also be getting a couple of stands for my CDs:cool::D

Is this Hamlet going to be filmed and shown on big screens? I saw the Frankenstein he did that way and I can still remember every second of it. Marvellous stuff.

CY - so sorry you're missing your theatre trip. As HB suggested, it is being shown at cinemas (I'm going tomorrow evening). Not quite the same as actually being there, but more doable for you atm. Hugs xx

I, too, could probably do with 2 days for the kitchen (and most other rooms if I'm honest! :o) - will sort out a list ready for tomorrow .................

  • Oh Bossy that is amazing, and its a good price too. Make the most of these Christmases, I miss all the excitement of choosing things you know they will love then hiding them until the big day. My boys will be 15 and 17 by Christmas and it just isnt the same. All they want is cash and a couple of things to open. DH really doesnt want to give them cash but I worry that if we dont we could end up buying them something they dont actually want.

Have had a nice day out today, one or two moments with DS1 but he did really well in the busy museum, although DH missed out because he was looking after DS1 while I looked at things with DS2, who was the most animated I have seen him for ages!

The garage is sorted! Whoop whoop! I cleared the shelving units and then started unpacking boxes and organising different things on different shelves. It's very annoying when not all the stuff in the garage is actually yours. We have a lot of athletic equipment, medals, poles etc. 8 massive boxing boxes flat packed and sent home with my mum. My bro is moving house in the next couple of months so he will be able to use them. I need to do a tip run as far too much junk to put in the bin. Mainly things like polystyrene and old paint tins. Will try and get rid this weekend. I then swept it all out so it looks pretty darn good now!

Bossy- that is so cool! Ds will love it I'm sure! I've just ordered a flicker scooter for my ds from amaz*n. He has hinted at one so I hope he will be chuffed!

Also done an hour of ironing tonight, hoovered downstairs (again) and steam cleaned the hall carpet. We are planning to laminate it but not until next year so got to put up with my grotty orange carpet. It does look better when it has been steam cleaned tho!

    Evening all :hello:

Frizzle - We have laminated floors throughout, apart from the kitchen and bathroom which are tiled. It does seem easier to keep clean and makes moving furniture easier as well to clean behind. However, I did have to get 'walk the dirt off' mats for the outside doors, otherwise it all walks everywhere, and rugs for the LR for a bit of warmth, colour and comfort.

Am still managing to leave the kitchen all tidied in the evenings. It is so much nicer getting up and going to make tea in a clean and tidy kitchen in the mornings :)

Sort through a box of general junk that is lurking

Sorting through my cupboards for stuff to CS and I've come across the child's book "Santa is coming to the Welsh valleys" it's in as new condition I bought it for my nephew and niece as there dad ( my bro in law) is of Welsh descent but I never gave it to them as I thought it was a bit young - they are 17 &18 now! If anyone lives in Wales or has a Welsh connection I'd sooner post it to you than give it to the CS as the midland isn't really the right area. Please PM if you want it but post in this thread as well so others know it's going. I don't want anything for it and will happily cover the postage. Hth

Ooh, yes please! We moved to Wales in June and this would be lovely to give to Small and Tiny xxxxx I'll PM you momentarily!
