  • Morning everyone

Not having to get up and go to work is wonderful. DS2 and I are just having a brew and a bacon buttie, the other two are still in bed. Going out in a bit.

Washing over the heated airer because its drizzling out and supposed to pour down later.

    Morning all
Nicki hope you manage to get all your books and orders sorted and delivered, imagine this next month is about your busiest time.
Hope you managed to source more paint as well.

It is my busiest time and trying to get new customers as my sales have nearly halved this past year is not helping! :(

Work and cleaning today is going to have to be a slow and steady job. I took a coughing fit last night & banged my ribs on the wheelie bin as I was opening the front door at the time and stumbled. Lucky I didn't go forward, I'd have split my head open on the brick wall corner as my head was down! Thought nothing of it. Took another coughing fit in the night which hurt but I put it down to the coughing suddenly. I woke up this morning a bit achy, got up & started doing stuff, now my ribs feel like they're in a corset on one side and lifting/twisting/reaching all hurt and coughing feelings like someone is punching me. The dog isn't helping either, he keeps jumping up at me to hug me or nuzzling whenever I express discomfort or pain :o I wouldn't mind, I didn't bang myself hard enough to crack anything so it must just be bruising. I'm hoping the over the counter pain killers will kick in soon so I don't have to resort to the ones the hospital gave me a few years back (they're still in date, I checked) as they knock me out and I'm already tired.

So the plan for today is now:

    Wash up
WM x 3 plus a cleaning cycle (I can kick the washing from where it is to the WM and then sit on the floor to deal with it ;))
Write newsletter for new customers books (books will have to go out tomorrow with DD's help, after I've prepared them)
Do my window for Halloween in stages. I just need to reprint some bits out as posters then cut them out to use as stencils as they'll look even better bigger than they were.

I'm going to do my computer dailies while I have another coffee then I'll start on my list.

Need to get back to old style in modern ways, watching the pennies and getting stuff done!

20 days sounds do-able, Bossy, and you've got the tough bits of the festivities sorted. Impressive.

CY if you phoned the theatre and said you weren't able to use the tickets you will absolutely have made someone else's day. I know it's not much of a consolation, but it might help a bit to think about their happiness. Is this Hamlet going to be filmed and shown on big screens? I saw the Frankenstein he did that way and I can still remember every second of it. Marvellous stuff.

Dealing with ex-atticy stuff is going rather well. More stuff to the scrap store yesterday. I can't believe the number of empty boxes I've got stacked up there now; the whole thing seems do-able suddenly. Must rake up some more leaves today while it's not raining. First load in the WM, shower room to scrub. That's a bit urgent, actually.
    Better is good enough.
  • Hello lovely ladies

Hugs & GWS vibes to all in need.

Monday was busy with other stuff as it's half term. Went to library so the boys could get some new books (very pleased they are now on the smaller reading books as much easier and lighter to carry!) and the walk home turned into a conker and leaf hunt. Dropped books at home and went straight out again with a bag to the park so we could collect different types of leaves for the pictures and crayon rubbings the boys wanted to do. Had a lovely afternoon with lots of pictures and finished off by doing the pumpkins for halloween. Super day had by all :)

Finally got the living room thoroughly cleaned yesterday as boys went to Granny's, everything that could be moved has been and the (currently unusable) fireplace now has a fresh pine cone filling. All looking lovely now and more welcoming. Still have a couple of drawers and under TV cupboard to sort properly as there's stuff lurking in them which can def be got rid of, but it is at least clean and tidy.

Also organised the B/band upgrade and will be cheaper for better speed :) so another thing ticked of the list.

Kitchen is also clean and tidy, cookery book shelf cleaned and reorganised and everything on surfaces moved, sorted and cleaned so that's all looking good too. Cupboards all still OK. Oven needs a clean and fridge freezer too but will do next week when boys back at school and I can concentrate properly.

Dailies done but that's about all flying planned for today, as have a few other things which need attention and need to spend time with the boys too.

    Have a good day all.

  • Yes dusty, I'm with you, done nothing yet today except drink coffee x
  • How did you get on dusty ? I made the beds, swished and swiped, loaded dishwasher, unloaded WM, reloaded it, wiped and cleared worktops and dining table and emptied kitchen bin and the recycling bin.

Now OH says he's going to see someone over Harrogate way, and do we want to go with him and he'll drop us off so we can have the afternoon there. Sounds better than cleaning but it is still raining hard.
