CY hope you are feeling OK this morning, its great to keep hearing from you.
Paid stuff this morning. I have Thursday and Friday booked as holiday and I am wondering if my boss will let me take tomorrow as well. Its fairly quiet at work at the moment and I have plenty of holidays left. No harm in asking is there.
The fridge needs a scrub, as does the oven and the kitchen windows could do with a clean. Will see what this afternoon brings.
Have a good day everyone x0 -
Morning all.
Hugs, spoons, sticks and vibes to allMy coffee hasn't kicked in yet so I can't remember what I've read
Its another work day here. This time it's admin for the day sorting newsletters and books out then deliveries tonight. I've looked at the weather forecast and its rain from 6pmish tonight (right when I start work) until Thursday! So since I'm planning on staying home tomorrow I might as well do the window then so I'm going to nip to the shop first thing this morning after I've walked the dog. I'm hoping with it being half term here that the bus stops and roads will be a bit quieter. Its a while since I walked him at this time of day during the week as he goes nuts at men or teenagers stood at the bus stop or getting off the buses, walking the side streets there's too many other dog walkers and in the park there's too many off the lead dogs who he goes nuts at. He has got fantastic recall though the one time I've let him off his lead as long as we're the only ones around
I also need to wash up (too tired last night), do some laundry, and a little bit of flying downstairs as upstairs is fine still from cleaning it at the weekend, but downstairs is covered in dog hair again as he's getting his winter coat.
Right, I best get moving. I have a busy day ahead! :wave:Creeping back in for accountability after falling off the wagon in 2016.Need to get back to old style in modern ways, watching the pennies and getting stuff done!0 -
Out on an errand this morning and meeting my colleague this afternoon to sort some stuff so won't be around much. Hope you all have a good day!Don't put it DOWN; put it AWAY"I would like more sisters, that the taking out of one, might not leave such stillness" Emily Dickinson

Morning all, and a special  to CY - hope you're feeling less whacked today.
I read through the thread on the train home yesterday evening, but I was using DH's iPad and wasn't logged in, so couldn't add my thanks to all the posters. Please consider yourselves thanked
Glad to hear that your mum's well enough to stay out of hospital, Dusty.
Valli, you are a whirlwind of efficiency!
Busy weekend over, and we did a lot of travelling yesterday. Nice to meet up with family members and friends who we rarely see - I discovered that one of my great-nephews had remarried and that another great-nephew and his partner (in the French branch of the family) had produced my first great-great-nephew about 6 weeks ago. Lots of oohing and aahing over photosTime to update the family tree, I think!
I was half-hoping to go and visit an old school friend today, but apparently it took until yesterday for the birthday card that I posted to her last Wednesday to reach her, so it's not possible. Probably a good thing, as I still have a bit of work to do from after our AGM on Saturday.
So my list for today says:
- SW this morning (christening cake on Sunday and cream tea yesterday will have taken their toll on both of us)
- email my school friend to arrange another mutually convenient date
- email my goddaughter re her invitation to her hen night (it's to be in November for a March wedding - no chance of the hangover ruining the big day :rotfl:). Sadly I will not be able to go - in all my life I've never been to a male stripper show, and it might have been interesting  :rotfl:  :rotfl: It's the all-night clubbing afterwards that would really not be my scene....
- compose AGM Minutes and write two receipts
- sort 2 boxes (one returned on Saturday and one that we opened up to show to new members)
- start preparations for course taster event next week
- wrap DGD1's big birthday present, deliberately withheld until tomorrow when we take her and her sister out, so that she can use it for the first time
- phone DS1 about times for tomorrow
- email a colleague in Germany
- if time, translate a form and send it to another German friend
- update a form and send it off
- get meat out of the freezer for tomorrow evening's meal and decide what to cook for starter and pudding (we have a friend coming to share the meal with us)
- do an hour's reading for my course
That should keep me busy!
DH has said he will rake the leaves off the lawn this afternoon :A
Hope everyone has a good day. (((Hugs))), spoons and sticks all round, as needed x0 -
Hi all
Hope today is more pleasant for you CY xx
I'm at paid stuff but the WM is on. Granny has taken the wee ones to the cinema so they will be out for a few hours.
Not that I'm counting but I've ive only got 20 working days left this year, not counting today :beer:Bossymoo

Hi all, I've been a bit awol for the last couple of days, but thanks for the lists natty and Bossy.
OH's brother is up from Dorset for a couple of days, so I spent Sunday madly cleaning, then was at work and then entertaining yesterday. Hope everyone is OK, Gilly I second your post.
CY, hope you are having a good day, Piggers , amazing progress pics, well done, nicki shame about the window. I've noticed a few houses in the village making a big effort for Halloween this year, its not really happened before, I like it.
Right, brother in law gone out for a bit, so a little bit of list to be done. Decided I'm sticking to the actual lists this week, see if it helps.
Nothing done from Mondays or Tuesday's yet, off I go x0 -
Just having HH break while I eat some lunch.
My bed is stripped, so now both lots of bedding are in the WM! I must remember to get the bed remade before I go out to work. All the towels from the bathroom are in the wash. The silly dog is walked but not as well as usual. He went into flight mode but I have no idea why so I ended up cutting it short and heading home as he was dragging me along. I mean he usually pulls anyway, but this was "I have to get away right now and you're holding me back" pulling. My hand and back are aching now and he's all sweetness again!
I ran up to the shop for paint, and got the last tube of black on the shelf! I'll have to check other branches when I'm out and about between now and the end of November, no rush-ishBought some sweets for halloween (I have snack bags so I'm going to pre-pack them!) and picked up some pasta bake sauces for quick meals
Popped into the coldland shop and bought a readymeal for tonight, 2 pizza for another night, and some doner meat & fries as DD has been asking for take-away
So hopefully, I can throw something quick in for the rest of the week and not have to really think about meals. I'm full of cold, really tired as a result so thinking is not going very well at all
WM is on, and I'm going to use the TD because next door is having their roof covered so there's bits of all sorts floating around. Time for coffee, the get started on the newsletters for the 120ish books I need to put out. :wave:Creeping back in for accountability after falling off the wagon in 2016.Need to get back to old style in modern ways, watching the pennies and getting stuff done!0 -
Took ds2 for a haircut then to my parents' house.
He is looking very grown up.
Ground floor henried. I have discovered what the smell is. DH admitted he henried up a slug that had been cut in half. Typical that I used the last bag last week and was trying not to hoard so many spares (konmaring).
1xwm done
Ds2 is bored
Can anyone recommend book buying site?0 -
Evening all. After a lovely lie-in I have had a nice day. I managed to get to see a friend I haven't seen since I started chemotherapy. We had a really good cat h up.
DD2 has gone to see the Bond film and DS is going to play pool with a mate, so DH and I are having a quiet night in.
I am a bit gutted. Tonight I should be at the Barbican in London watching Benedict Cumberbatch in Hamlet. Sadly I am not well enough to go. I am trying not to let it get to me....
Anyway I have had a good day and I hope tomorrow will be good too.:jFlylady and proud of it:j0 -
Aww what a shame CY xx
Yuck, dancemum _pale_ by the way, DD passed her red and turquoise rosettes :A
All is quiet here. Kiddies still shattered from all the fun of Center Parcs. So they have already been in bed half an hour. I've sorted the kitchen after dinner and I'm going to shuffle some laundry. And put away whatever is dry.
Did some shopping for the December festival earlier (online) which is being delivered tomorrow. So I need to have a look at what we have and decide if that's enough. They have a big present each so I don't want to go over board. It leaves plenty of ideas for my mum, anyway. Really think they will love what I've chosen, it's not on either of their lists but I think they'll be made up!
Now we've finished all our weekends away I'm turning to winter prep. Weather was grotty today, and I've been working anyway, but I'm hoping Thursday and Friday will be dry so we can do some outdoor tidying and organising.
I'm also thinking what I need for the cupboards. Will fill my empty 2l water bottles which I used up when I had to turn the mains supply off. Lots to think about. Already feels like winter is approaching with the kiddies wanting hot water bottles and I'm going round the house at dusk to close all the blinds.
Right. Laundry shuffle, followed by an early night. WFH tomorrow and kids are going to school club for the day.Bossymoo
