Indeed, and we don't know what Morrison's officially policy is. I highly doubt though that it does state such things for knives as it would be very hard to justify in many cases.

And going back to the original product, they'd have been stocking something their own policy doesn't allow them to sell.

I imagine the truth of the matter is that supermarkets push the alcohol laws so hard during training, because breaking these could really get them into trouble, that some cashiers end up thinking that all restricted products are to be treated in the same way.

my vent with Morrisons is how they have now ditched the match and more scheme and for one last hurrah have used data cleaned from the scheme to penalise regular customers with this years xmas promotion.

In previous years customers had to have a minimum spend of £40 over 5 weeks or so and would gain a £25 voucher, this year they are doing lots of people over by varying the amounts considerably.
