Hollyboll's Nibbling the Dinosaur: The Only Way (It can be done) is Forwards ...
Comments
-
Hollyboll slinks in shamefaced, beating self round hanging head and with tail between my legs … quite a feat as it involves any movement.
Mortified that it’s been so long since I’ve been onto board, let alone my diary … last seen chain-chomping lozenges, on which I did not in fact choke but did break a tooth … lowlights of the following weeks included infections galore, blue lights, and seemingly endless circles of symptom-mitigating but rubbish-feeling-inducing meds and attempts to be freeeeeee of same (should probably clarify that although maybe tangential, not all caused by lockets!).Otherwise known as occasional step forward and several runs backwards inevitably falling flat on bum. Seems I forgot temporarily about my diary’s title …
None of which is an excuse, and I’ve meant to visit so often and thought of y’all and MFW a lot. (Too) much time contemplating the resolutely-non-shrinking dinosaur, and keen to start nibbling again, now that I’m off the nasties which made everything taste of metal – fresh dinosaur is that much more delicious … But somehow the days stretched through weeks and I’m horrified now to realise into months, and hard not to feel if I don’t have something good / positive / progress to report, better not say anything. Which is of course nonsense, as therein lies the slippery slope back into pre-LBM ostriching.
So here goes again … little tiny stepettes but must be better than nothing … Finally managed to post what I’ve been meaning to for weeks – and typed and lost more than once … not a massive feat, but it’ll do for tonight. Figuratively skips out, much moved by the messages above ...I will be back (Schwarznegger / KC stylie), and catch up on other diaries soon ….
Even by ostrich standards, it’s a bit late to say Happy New Year, but I hope everyone had good holidays and great starts to 2016. Thanks to so many of you who inspired, motivated, entertained and supported me through 2015 – for most of it without having any idea you were doing so. I declare a whole new 45-week year, and here’s to all of our MFW journeys, happiness and success in it! ☺Fleabay + Weebuy + Gumfree since started diary 94 items sold, £649.71 clear profit0 -
Yaaay! Glad to see you back! And sending lots of good vibes for a MUCH BETTER and healthier rest of the year!!
Keep posting, there nothing like being on MSE to make you feel like you're making progress, no matter how tiny, pixie-steppish it may be xxa penny picker upper. MFW approx 78% to go | FIRE 3 years worth (30% savings rate: now aiming for 40%!) | Normality is a paved road; it's comfortable to walk, but no flowers grow on it | Whatever you're meant to do, do it now. And there was me thinking ...... it was ...... you .......
and there I was patiently waiting for you to decide what you were going to do with the £30,000,000.00, hoping you would clear my mortgage since it would only be 1/1000 of your winnings :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl: have no idea what % that would betoo many noughts .....:D
Seriously, hope your better now, and ready for the 45 week year - good to see you back :grouphug:Always have 00.00 at the end of your mortgage and one day it will all be 0's :dance:MF[STRIKE] March 2030[/STRIKE] Yes that does say 2030  Mortgage Free 21.12.18 _party_Now a Part Timer from 27.10.190 -
Thank you both ... lovely messages to which to wake up.
Ah yes AFK, now you come to mention it ... I believe there is a small scrap of paper that's gone through the wash and dishwasher a couple of times, sat out in the rain for a few days, through the shredder and therefore illegible. But it's definitely definitely a missing winning ticket entitling me to a gzillion squid jackpot :rotfl:
Of all the things I think I can safely promise, I feel absolutely happy promising this. If I win the lottery (although that might need me to buy a ticket first?) I will not forget my MFW friends or let that be a reason not to post. After all, I will need something to keep me entertained from my sun lounger, between cocktails. So you will be the first to know .....
And .... 3-2-1 .... back into the room .....

Thank you greent, it's good to be back.
Yesterday's pixie steps (thanks PM, loving this expression) comprised piling up a load of stuff that simply isn't worth the pennies on fleabay because it is too big/awkward to post / used / etc. Listed on gumfreee and if it's not gone next weekend it's going to freeecycle or the tip. Completely exhausted by the effort, but rewarded by an email this morning and have made my very first gumfreee fiver! Thanks GG and Ali-t who suggested this ages ago.
Might today dust off that spreadsheet and see where I am on the penny-making ... much though I'd hate to give any readers a shock by talking about money things on this diary ...
Happy if grey Sundays!

Wiped out today after a couple of appointments, but determined to keep daily posting, so just a quick summary:
- Things actually sold and collected from gumfree:1 (a start)
- Things possibly going to be sold and collected from gumfree: 2 (but that's out of dozens of emails that seem to come to nothing)
- Things sold on fleabay when listing closed last night: 3 (time for some Hermes action tomorrow)
- Things not sold on fleabay or on gumfree: several (but at least I've tried - they are all little and are getting a week or two tops and then freeeecycle or tip)
- Spreadsheets updated: 0 (v bad)
- Hours of sleep now needed: many
- Interesting fact for the day: printer liquid is more expensive than Channnnnnel!

Hello Holly! No wonder its taken you a while to come back, sounds like you've had a very rough time health wise, but I'm glad you sorted it and got back. Good experimenting with gumfree
Don't exhaust yourself though - you're still in recovery, from the sound of it.
All the best - see you back here soon2023: the year I get to buy a car0 -
:hello: KC - thanks for the visit
Lovely to 'see' you. I can't believe how close your retiring date is now looking .... You are (as always) right, today has been an absolute wipe-out as overdid it the last couple ... patience really not my strength! I will be along to visit your diary shortly, but I know it will have grown a bzillion pages in my absence ...
So ... much sleep today - and now of course up too late as slept too much. I have:
- not achieved any gumfreee sales; prospects both fell through
- wrapped and ready with H3rmes small fleabay sales but not had energy to take them out - will do tomorrow. Took best part of 2 hours to get printer working for labels - everything IT related has also been sick in last couple of months, and seems also to have now developed immunity to both coaxing and cursing.
Sorry I'm being rubbish slow at catching up with and posting on others' diaries ... I will get there, but taking it like everything in pixie steps ... I am realising though that I missed the 'lists for 2016' season and will put a bit of thought towards that. For anyone counting, it's been five months without a job, and I said six months was serious re-think time. Probably best not to start that at 11pm though ...
