Supermarket's Own Brand Value Ranges Disappearing?

Hi All
I am noticing more and more that the everyday value range from Tesco is no longer on the shelves.

Specifically
Yoghurts
Cereals
Meat
Mustards and sauces
Cheese like mozzarella and cream cheese

Is this happening in your Tesco too?

Are they backing away from this strategy?

  • My local Tesco is a Tesco Extra which is tiny. It doesn't have near the same amount of products other Extra store have. I had notice the Value range becoming less and less but put it down to it being a tiny Extra store (I really do think they should lose the Extra from it's sign). I guess it's not just my local store.

The Everyday Value Sugar Free Lemonade - 17p for 2 litres has vanished - not been able to get it since the end of August. I now have to buy the next one up at 40p for 2 litres and it is nowhere near as good

You're absolutely right, op - a good Thread to start!

I have queried disappearance of nets of EV oranges - 76p, for 6-ish.
Persistently doing so courteously, means that I was offered equivalent no. in nets, priced £1.50 or more, for 76p.

Same happened with EV 500g pots of natural yogurt. If things are not flagged as being removed on systems, they can and should be re-stocked. Manager made a point of doing so for me, after weeks of failure and showing me when he spotted me in store. Excellent man.

Dbl-length 4pks of toilet rolls went some months ago.

It's a good time to look for long-life stock cupboard rtc's of branded/Finest things, too.
Playing MrT & w8r0s off against each other works well.

Apparently this happens every year in the run up to Christmas.

Value Bran Flakes have gone, but Aldi do a 750grm box which tastes the same for the same money 88p. Lemon Curd has gone, I need to find another shop which sells it for 22p. Someone told me Asda and Morrisons have it.
