True (albeit gross) story....When I was a wee nipper my Nana, who had false teeth used to get a box of those Brazil Nuts covered in toffee every Christmas. She used to suck the toffee off but could not eat the nuts, so she used to wrap them in a clean hanky and put them on the mantle piece for me to eat when I visited.

The thought was there

Interesting I always thought the nuts with the chocolate sucked off was one of those urban myths.

Wouldn't sucking nuts that were not covered in chocolate be a bit pointless?

The original is no less gross really as it refers to sucking raw eggs.

Totally off topic, but when my Mum was little, she found it hard to chew her meat, so her big sister used to chew it first, to soften it up for her! :eek:

As for the Advents, I'm very grateful for all the efforts Forum Members go to. Last year was my first and despite spending an extra couple of hours every day, trying to cover the Advents, I didn't win a single thing from them. I think I may just try to avoid them this year.
