1) Separate Advents Thread ... this has been covered and is something we tend to do anyway.
2) Separate thread from Email / Instant Win ... Neah, I don't think we need to overcomplicate it, having too many threads just makes it a bit messy and possibly confusing (not to mention harder to manage)
3) Don't click into threads ... I've been thinking about the best way to manage this and I do agree that it can be a bit of pain to click through to the thread, then find the appropriate reply to find the answer, or the link ... and then click through again to find out it's a prize I'm not even interested in. So I was thinking about going through them in the morning, adding a direct link, an answer and adding a note of what that days prize is ... be a bit of extra work but should be manageable, I wouldn't want to do anything that would remove "thanks" from the person who posts the reply with the link / answers though, which in bypassing the post this would do.
I'm not sure, need to work out the best way to do this.0 -
Going through them each day is crazy IMO. Some comps update at midnight, some update in the morning, some update at noon, some update in the afternoon, and some update in the evening. You'd be sat there all day just updating

Tbh it might be a waste of time cos not many people actually comp from the thread. it's mainly used by people who don't go through the main board each day to search and those who might've missed a few days ...0 -
I comp from the back of the thread where the comps are added and use the thanks button to keep track, I put them into my own designated folders, I set the thread to alert and just drag n drop into my folders when a new one comes in.#JusticeForGrenfell0

Don't even consider it - you have no chance in the time you have.
It would send you totally insane - you might even end up supporting Hearts

Hi MSE Jordon
See Post 2 by mjm3346 (amongst other comments). I appreciate that as you are new here and unfamiliar with comping on MSE (Join Date: Oct 2015 and assuming this new ID isn't a multi of an already existing MSE account) you'll be keen to implement some changes, as we all are when we start a new job, but please leave Advents as they are as it is a mad enough comping time anyway without the people who use the comping forum having to work out what and why the MSE forum team have done. Cheers and good luck in your new job.UEFA: Corrupting Football Since 1954 #CTID0 -

Hi MaineBlue,
Thanks for the welcome! I actually am very familiar with comping on MSE and have been doing it before my start here. I did advents last year and loved them myself!
Please note that this is a whole forum team discussion, not just from me. We just want what is best from you all! After doing a few polls on social media, it looked like people wanted things to be slicker, that's all. :j
Thank you to everyone for your suggestions so far! We are all taking them on board! Keep them coming!
MSE Jordon:money: Keep calm and carry on couponing! :money:0
