Thanks for the answers, but it doesn't seem to have worked for me. The confirmation email from ebay says the correct amount (and that the discount has been applied). The email from paypal is a strange mishmash, with amounts being deducted in nonsensical amounts, for example:
£9.91 GBP1£9.91 GBP Postage and packaging£0.00 GBP "Tax amount" "Total"£9.91 GBP Discount £1.98 GBP "Payment"-£188.09 GBP
The individual items in paypal show no reductions, just the full amounts.
Should I contact ebay, paypal, both or just wait do you think?0 -

Have you actually checked the individual transactions in paypal?
This is one of my transactions (I bought a number of things in one checkout so each transaction shows separately in paypal)
Paid with
£6.09 PayPal Balance
£48.07 QCPUKQ4 Flash Coupon CUKFLASH #CUKFLASH
£186.20 VISA x-XXXX
Just looking at the paypal transaction though it just shows:

I had checked, yesterday, and didn't see anything. But I've now had another look and the individual items are now along the lines of
Paid with£7.93 PayPal Balance£1.98 QCPUKQ4 Flash Coupon CUKFLASH #CUKFLASHI could have sworn that wasn't there yesterday! But then, how often do I look on a shelf for something, it isn't there, but strangely enough two minutes later my wife finds it in exactly the same place. I usually blame the pixies and/or inadvertent universe switching, but who can really tell the reason.
Anyway, thanks all! The problem, if there ever actually was one other than my lack of brainpower, is resolved!0 -
Voucher worked in ebay Item was £249.99, and ebay said voucher applied in their confirmation so they would be taking £199.99 from my Paypal.
However the full £249.99 has been taken from my Paypal account.
Just got off phone from ebay Customer Service who say they are aware there was an issue and it is a technical issue and can't issue a refund at this time. Waiting for a call back as I asked to escalate it.
So if you have;t checked your Paypal account, I would suggest you check to see if the voucher was taken off the price before the amount was passed to Paypal to pay.0 -
From the Ebay Facebook page;
Hi all, this code has now finished (10pm tonight), We hope you all enjoyed using the coupon. When you purchased It did show the full amount on PayPal but when you click on the transaction details it will show you how the transaction was funded with the coupon. Check it on the Desktop site to see this. Let us know if you still have any problems.through our inbox message and we will get back to you ASAP
So it seems there may have been a problem with some transactions.0 -
I believe that this was a "trial run" for something bigger later in the year. I expect to see a similar campaign around Black Friday (27th Nov), as a lot of the developers and affiliates have been given a bit of advance notice on forthcoming promotions.<--- Nothing to see here - move along --->0

Just got off phone with Paypal. They say the voucher amount was not applied at their end because ebay passed an invalid code to them. They say ebay should refund, which I agree with if that is the case. First thing the ebay guy told me in my earlier call to them was claim back from Paypal. Which I did not accept as a solution.
Both organisations are very quick to take your money but when it comes a refund because of their mistake, they drag their feet.
Both organisations may be now different companies but they still share one similarity. They both have shocking IT developers!

Yes, it feels like I am the one on trial and have been fined £50, as the ebay voucher code passed to Paypal from ebay was invalid (told to me a few minutes ago by Paypal), so ended having £50 extra taken from ny Paypal account.
I have appealed :-)0 -

Possible. Although I hope they do things a bit different.
I don't think all sellers understood they were still getting the full amount. I was waiting for new consoles to be listed, hoping for a decent priced one and barely any were listed in the time the promotion ran. They were being listed before and after though. So it would suggests people were perhaps waiting until after to list.
Plus I read comments of people saying they understood why some sellers had raised prices, basically suggesting they'd lose out otherwise. They wouldn't though.
That also leads on to the fact that some sellers did raise prices, meaing buyers didn't get a bargain as they should have done (or certainly not as good as it should have been) so they were making more money out of the offer.
I didn't end up buying anything for that reason0
