    Thanks to Sham63.

    "You saved £33.98 on this purchase" on a brand new camera lens; just got back from the pub in time for thedeadline.

    You're welcome!

    My pre-10pm purchase on my phone went through without requesting a discount code!

    Ive just paid full price! Has this happened anyone else? I'm so angry!

    :mad::mad:
  • It won't automatically request a code, there's a bit at the bottom of checkout that says enter a code. If you don't click on that it won't know you've got a code to enter.

    It doesn't request a code , you had to manually enter it as a code before you paid.

    I've only used a PC and my iPad to buy on eBay, but on both there is a box to enter a coupon code when you look at your shopping basket page before you click to pay. The code/coupon box is always there for me- it's just rare to ever have a code.

    I used the phone app to purchase. Maybe there's a difference?

    Firstly, a big thanks for this heads up - very handy!

    However, also a question about how it works, as I'm a wee bit puzzled. I bought a few things that I needed, putting them in my shopping trolley, then added the code at the bottom. This worked fine, and I got the message that I was saving £6.94, reducing the total to £27.72, as expected. I pay using paypal, as required, and all goes smoothly.

    However, looking in my paypal account, the full amounts have been sent to the sellers, but there is no sign of the discount. Now, I assume this is actually paid by ebay, not the individuals/businesses concerned, so fair enough. But I was therefore wondering how I actually get the discount. Am I being thick, or just impatient, confused, or what?

    The retailers get the full amount - Ebay cover the discount so you will have only been charged £27.72

    Have a look at your confirmation email from PayPal - the discount will be shown there.

    If you go into the details on your Paypal for each item then scroll right down you will see the discount and the actual price you paid after the discount was deducted. I checked all my purchases and it was taken off all 5 so I got a discount of £8.24. All these savings add up over a year. Well worth doing especially if it's items you were going to buy anyway.

    Thanks OP and MSE team. :T
