We don't know you and not everyone is good at IT. soolin was just double checking that you knew how to check Paypal and that you had done so as for most they can then see that the code did work.
As many times as I like and think appropriate! They are called discussion threads for that very reason.0 -

Yeah, but usually the way discussions work is one person says something, you reply to that, then they reply back. Not one person says something then you reply to that, then reply again, then again. You could have written one fairly short thought out reply and written it without the rudeness towards someone who is trying to help you.0 -

What code is that then and how long is it valid to?0 -

It's not valid anymore, there's nothing to see, move along, move along.Warning: any unnecessary disclaimers appearing under my posts do not bear any connection with reality, either intended, accidental or otherwise. Your statutory rights are not affected.0 -

The 20% code is no longer valid. My 10% code is valid until the 29th and is for electronics of £100 or more. However, it is account specific. Check your ebay account to see if you have one. It'll be on the myebay page under vouchers (scroll down to see it) if you have it (or any other codes).0 -
Or just open a load of ebay accounts, verify them all , buy one low priced item and forget about the account for a while. After a few months, ebay will send you a flat rate "welcome back" voucher, typically £10 off when you spend £20.
Open enough accounts, and you will get a voucher like this every 3-4 weeks...<--- Nothing to see here - move along --->0 -

If you can think this up, and maintain security on all the unused accounts... you probably have the skills to make money an easier way. Like the people who forge one pound coins have the skills to make other small metal objects worth ten times the amount but haven't thought hard enough.Warning: any unnecessary disclaimers appearing under my posts do not bear any connection with reality, either intended, accidental or otherwise. The ebay code worked fine on ebay Soolin. I did actually say that. Ebay said I would only be charged £199.99. What didn't work was the code ebay passed to Paypal for the payment transaction when my account was charged. So Paypal not recognising the code that has been passed to them did not deduct 20%. So I got charged £249.99 even though ebay had said it was going to charge me £199.99.
It does help understand the issue if you understand how information is passed between different systems.
That still doesn't alter the fact though that the code 'system' worked for other people .I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. Be careful if it tells you that your purchase failed. My son just bought a few low cost items , added all to his basket and checked out and got an error message saying try again later.
He checked his purchased items and nothing showed and his basket was empty, so he started trying to remember what he had bought to re add to the basket but decided to check paypal and the payment had actually gone. Now 3/4 of an hour later all the items show in his purchased list .
I had exactly the same problem. I had 6 items sat in my basket ready to checkout, hit checkout at 9.55 and the app decided to freeze, with the timer just going round and round. When it unfroze, my basket was empty.....I then found all items marked as paid! I didn't go through the checkout process at all, no logging into PayPal and certainly no chance to put the discount code in.
I have contacted EBay 3 times today and they are simply not interested. I'm so angry, I only bought those items because of the discount. I've actually overpaid now and could have purchased them cheaper in the shops.0 -

Not entirely the same, the significant difference was that my son had entered the discount code and clicked confirm. It was only after payment that he was mistakenly told it had failed- only to show up correctly in his paypal account with the code applied.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards.
