If it is going to be a general code then I wonder how they will apply this bit
1.This offer is open to targeted eBay.co.uk registered users, who must be UK residents of 18 years of age or older who hold a valid UK registered PayPal account.
Unless they mean targeted as in 'over 18 with a paypal account- blah blah'I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. I think the terms are quite general, which is why it says to refer to the post for any exceptions with categories. However, we all know what ebay is like with offers/codes lol.0 -

Alas, I fear you might be right.
They did a great offer a few years back that actually did work- so I have got some rather raised expectations here. I will be prepared to have my hopes dashed though come 4pm.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. I'm really hoping it works fine, but I'm half expecting it to go wrong.
This thread has been viewed 311 times currently and the ebay FB post has over 500 likes. Based on them figures it's a very small number of users.
However, many will have seen the FB post and not clicked like and HUKD has numerous deals mentioning it and they've crashed a few sites previously and have been the cause of news stories. The last ebay offer caused chaos on there and on ebay with so many people trying the code and it only working for random people or not at all and people constantly trying to be the ones to make it work, then new people seeing it and trying too.
It's impossible to know how many have seen the HUKD posts. It may also be posted elsewhere. So it won't surprise me if ebay can't cope again. They should have learnt by now that word will get out and it'll be more than they want, but I guess we'll have to wait and see what happens.0 -
I have been watching an auction item that has a reserve & a BIN price. This item is collection only but no mention of cash on collection. Will I have a problem with the seller if I pay by PP?0

Possibly. Message them to double check and if you don't get a reply don't buy unless you're prepared to pay the full amount (as they won't give you 20% off paying by cash).0 -
Thanks for posting this, hadn't seen it before (didn't know they did offers like this tbh.)0

But who is losing out on the 20%? Surely can't be the seller, can it?0 -
