However, not every one has the same definition of privacy depending on the level of relationship and the persons involved.
OH and I are quite private people and tend to do things separately. We have separate bank accounts, but we would have no issue sharing our details. Same with phones/laptops, we have codes that we haven't officially shared, but when I needed to use OH's laptop, he didn't think twice of telling me what it was and leaving me to use it. I would do the same.
I do find that those shouting the loudest about their right to their privacy are those who have something to hide. Somehow, they are usually the ones whose partner feel a need to look into their things!
We tend to agree on things, however I think there's some confusion in what I meant.
You and your partner have personal things, which you share. Eg phone, laptop etc. - you're happy to do that.
But everyone has a right to have private thoughts and journals etc.
How often do we hear about abusive partners who check phones, Facebook, etc. - we all accept that is wrong. This is no different.
Suspect all you want, if you really can't trust the person- break up, end it. But going into stalker mode when the other party clearly hasn't given permission to look at their private things- that is wrong.
Both parties has a total lack of respect to the other.0
