Car failed it's MOT. I did also ask them to service the Air Con while they were at it, bill in total was just shy of £700!! _pale_
So I will have to use the £140 I have tucked away.
At least mums target goes down each month, so it's slowly ticking down, just not as fast as I'd like.

Hi everyone, you ok helen
Did a car boot yesterday so another £70 to go in my target (£1300 now)
It was too hot and ended up with a really bad headache but never mind earned some extra pennies
I don't do very many car boots maybe 1 or 2 a year but im finding the people are getting more rude and really cheeky - wanting everything for nothing and im talking something for a fiver for 50p - don't think i'll bother going to this one again - its just i know its always on, what with that and the early start i don't think i can cope!!
Enjoy the weather but stay cool
Haven't been on here for a while but have just had a quick catch-up of what you've all been up to. Well done everyone for managing to add to your savings:beer:
I know exactly what you mean about car boots, skye blue. I feel just the same. I've been an avid booter for years (you'd never have guessed that from my username would you:rotfl:) and have really noticed how they've stopped being the pleasure that they used to be. A real chore nowadays and I usually come home feeling really grumpy and annoyed even when I manage to sell quite a lot. I think all these TV programmes have a lot to answer for, the ones where buyers are badgering sellers in antique shops and such like to sell items for next to nothing which they then go on to make big profits on at auction themselves:(.
I'm sure you take a lot of trouble to decide a reasonable price for your goods, as do I and I'm always willing to come down a bit as I want to sell the stuff after all and not take it all home again. I agree with you, people want new or 'as new' items for pennies and get really stroppy and aggressive if refused:eek:. I expect many of these buyers are then going to sell things on via eBay, Facebook or whatever for big profits. If I had the time to do that myself I wouldn't be selling at a car boot sale.
I used to love the whole experience as early mornings don't bother me and a few hours sitting in a field surrounded by beautiful rural scenery having a friendly chat to the buyers/browsers, maybe eating a picnic, getting rid of clutter and hopefully making some extra money used to be my idea of a lovely Sunday morning. What with this weather though (like you I can't stand it and always used to go home with a headache after a few hours in the sun) and the type of people that tend to frequent the sales nowadays I haven't done one for several weeks and don't plan to. I've taken several loads to charity shops instead this summer. It's the end of an era for me but I'm almost relieved it's all over:j0 -
Hi
You doing ok helen
Thanks for your message carbootcrazy im glad im not the only one feeling this way - we were never going to make a packet but it made me feel as if i was trying at least to up the pennies.
£50 to add to my total this week please i had a refund from a couple of tops I bought and sent back so I treated it as spent and added it along with a couple of survey payouts and £5 from a rare lottery ticket I bought
Try and keep cool everyone0 -
Sold another item on FB selling - listed it ages ago so really excited to shift it and for the the listed price of £15. This month has been a bit expensive with a new baby so holding off adding it to the emergency fund just yet.0
