How very double dare you! I actually managed a few redeems on this last year.
Just to reassure Elite that I should be allowed to have my Elite badge back, I have actually found my Birds Eye receipts from the TMF that I lost :A. Now I am not sure the 2014 dates will be valid, but still ...

Very sorry to hear this Fairclaire. As you say 1 in 3 of us will get cancer at some point in our lives, which is a very scary statistic and more so if you are the one. It is also very difficult to know what to say apart from to keep going by focusing on what is important and to hope that the treatment regime works.
Take care

someone close to me was taken into hospital on Thursday last week. He had a whole body scan and was told he had advanced lung and liver cancer. He went home and his daughter told me on Friday. He passed away yesterdayI firmly believe some people just give in when they are told.

I talk honestly as always and people avoid me.
I'm trying to set up a support group in my area. I can't be the only young sufferer of multiple myeloma here. I met with a lively gentleman the other day. He was in his late 60s and sprightly for it. He is the youngest member of the resident group for sufferers. maybe I can make a difference and set up a proper group? I can try.
Did you all know there are 137 types of blood cancer. All of them rare and I am exclusive enough to have one of them......get me :rotfl::rotfl:
Good on you for trying to set up that group and I am sure that with your determination you will do it. We had a friend through the car boots that got breast cancer and we were the only two people who she felt comfortable talking to about it, because we talked normally about it. We didn't skirt around the issues nor did we make light of it. Alan even shaved his head (not that he had that much hair to start with ) as she was frightened of losing her hair, so he wanted to share with her. In the end she survived, without losing her hair, and is still about, happy and well. This was all before Alan's cancer
I know very little about blood cancer, in fact nothing at all  so I am going to put that right tomorrow - google (or swagbucks actually) is my friend. Actually, I always look things up, I NEED knowledge, I need to know what is going on in matters like this. They say that ignorance is bliss, but I just don't agree. Knowledge is everything. Well, knowledge and action
I'm off to bed now, hoping that Berry Bear will settle. He has been good these last few days and nights, but got totally stressed when I was out at vets today with Millie (routine check for repeat prescription re heart murmer) and he wrecked everything in the hall and wrecked his mouth too, another very rotten tooth broken off and gums very raw, with blood everywhere on doors. He took ages to settle and I am taking him to vets tomorrow if I can get appointment. Will be ringing them first thing

I've posted on here because I dont want to answer PMs and it be hidden. I've got incurable blood cancer. I'm going to die from it unless AAU gets me in his double decker bus first
As I've said to a very good friend tonight. Problems are only big if they are affecting your life....whatever they may be. life is too short to please other people.

I'm so sorry FC you are right attitude to cancer needs to change. To be strong and fight this disease people need to talk about it. The person suffering has to learn to live with cancer and unfortunately so do those around them.
My dad never handled my mums cancer well in a way I thank God he was not around when she was diagnosed with secondary he never would have coped. Let's hope as generations move forward that acknowledging cancer becomes easier just as you would talk about it if someone had broken their arm or leg. Education that it does not necessarily lead to immenent death and many people have a very good quality of life living with their cancer. Look at my mum she was first diagnosed before she was 60 and lived another 21 years.
I wish you well for the rest of your treatment don't dwell on the what ifs, take things slowly but surely and you will get through this. x0 -
