Very relieved that you are still with us, not a day has gone by without someone thinking about you and mentioning you and wondering why you had gone into hiding and we moved threads and wondered if you went AWOL
Last time you were off to have some tests so I imagine the last few weeks have been the result of these tests?
We have a full compliment on the sick list at the mo, the Elite are using the full power of positive thoughts and trying to keep them all out of hospital and in good spirits
Bless you. I actually do look in just to read your posts. Your calamities are a part of my everyday lifelogged in or out
unfortunately my kidneys aren't playing ball with the rest of my body. despite me drinking a lake everyday. I'm not lying here in my death bed or anything. I'm functioning quite well and the chemo and subsequent stem cell harvest is an insurance policy for the future. I know you will get this. if someone offered you an insurance policy or a lottery ticket you'd take the insurance policy too
the radiotherapy was to cure a tumour that was found in the soft tissue under one of my eyes. this was found after I was diagnosed and no one thought to scan my head. I thank you for not walking on by :A0 -
This is a lovely bargain from H.Samuel

There is also an offer (on the homepage) to buy a sekonda £59.99 watch for £19.99 with any purchase.
I was shown the watch instore today it is lovely but I could not warrant spending another £20. SA did say I could buy as many as I wanted. Not sure if that is really the case I had bought 3 things and mentioned I had 3 DDs.
Just been looking at this and the watch, they are lovely. When I put them both in my basket it said "spend another £5.odd and get a £20 voucher" I added a leather bracelet for £7 and delivery went to zero and I qualified for the voucher.
Not sure what restrictions there are on spending the voucher but seems like a good deal for 3 pressies with a voucher to spend on a future purchase (as long as there isn't a whopping conditional spend attached to the offer!)
I didn't buy as not sure who I'd give them to
Off to bed now, night all x0 -
There was no home visit with Poppy they just had us sat in waiting room with her for ages watching us with her
They did say they would do a follow up home visit which I was a annoyed with because I got no visit.
You should be fine with home visit as long as your garden is secure and he got plenty of room to go crazy running about. Also if they see you are going to give him loads love in his forever home.
I forgot to take a collar and lead when I went for Poppy so had to buy them there I did take a blanket.
Time for work .
Unfortunately, Manchester Dogs Home are known for this, letting dogs go out without homevisits or follow up, sending dogs out without nuetering them first, etc. They say that they have too many dogs through the rescue to do everything, but these simple steps are essential in responsible dog rescue and would result in less dogs suffering in bad homes, or worse still, going for dog bait, breeding, etcEvery sympathy for the dogs when that fire happened but also very much aware that MDH were sitting with about £3M in the bank before this happened
NO charity should carry that sort of money in the bank
Anyway, Evangeline, don't worry about that homecheck as long as you have a secure garden suitable for the size of dog you are adopting, won't be leaving it alone in the house for long periods, are aware of and accept that there might be some problems while the dog is settling in, a way of stopping the dog getting out of front door when you open it (internal door or child gate), these are all the things we look for on a homecheck. But mostly we look for a home where a dog will be loved and happy and well cared for, so I am sure it will all go wellapologies I got side tracked by bedroom tidying yesterday!
I'll bump up the entire post
with thanks to the kind person who runs total couponing on FB

you can register via your FB and then click on the quiz, top left hand side. The quiz is one muti choice question.
it then sends you a print off MOC to your email address for 50p - these are on offer for 75p in Morrisons until the 29th in theory
http://www.mysupermarket.co.uk/brands/barilla_in_morrisons.html
MOCs are valid for 3 months so when they go off the offer in Morribobs stock pile the MOCs until the price is correct again
you can do this 3 times a day!fairclaire wrote: »Bless you. I actually do look in just to read your posts. Your calamities are a part of my everyday lifelogged in or out

people should talk more about cancer. I have it as one in three of us will do in the future. it needs to be talked about and addressed. it's not a nice subject but neither is people avoiding you because you have it.
I've posted on here because I dont want to answer PMs and it be hidden. I've got incurable blood cancer. I'm going to die from it unless AAU gets me in his double decker bus first
As I've said to a very good friend tonight. Problems are only big if they are affecting your life....whatever they may be. life is too short to please other people.0 -

Oh FC, I am so sad at this news, but I do agree about talking about cancer. It is something Alan and I both did, we talked about his cancer and his prognosis. The Big C frightens people but only by talking about it and learning about it, can we understand it and deal with it in everyday life. Hope the treatment you are having will give you many years yet hunMr 3Dogs 3-7-12

Further to our FREE trail of Candy Kittens sweeties, I emailed them about it showing I was being charged £10 and this was their reply today:
Hi Susan,
We are experiencing a problem at our checkout and although it says you have paid £10, you have not!
I hope this helps.
Many thanks,
Whitney

people are scared. I'm scared Susan. I have cried so much but you will know it isn't something you can escapeI talk honestly as always and people avoid me.
I'm trying to set up a support group in my area. I can't be the only young sufferer of multiple myeloma here. I met with a lively gentleman the other day. He was in his late 60s and sprightly for it. He is the youngest member of the resident group for sufferers. maybe I can make a difference and set up a proper group? I can try.
Did you all know there are 137 types of blood cancer. All of them rare and I am exclusive enough to have one of them......get me :rotfl::rotfl:

Very sorry to hear this Fairclaire. As you say 1 in 3 of us will get cancer at some point in our lives, which is a very scary statistic and more so if you are the one. It is also very difficult to know what to say apart from to keep going by focusing on what is important and to hope that the treatment regime works.
Take care
