I have to try and avoid the wine/fizzy route this year because I did give them chapel down last year and a guided grape tour in Kent....we also got BIL whisky for his birthday so cant really go too much further down that route...
it might also be a little similar to the picnic backpack which again was a present to us from them.
I do think there will be sleepless nights over this between now and christmas...all because of the need to give and receive a gift.....frugal October...£41.82 of £40 food shopping spend for the 2 of us!

Although this is true...it doesnt clearly solve the problem of what to buy someone who has everything,or at least very little needs except something to open on christmas morning.
I need to buy my sister and bil a present...I have no idea what...for the past few years we have gone with gift experiences/theatre trips/meals out etc but the list has now run out of suitable things....they are affluent and as such really dont need or want anything and I really have tried going down the route of "no gifts for us"...but my sister seems adamant on an exchange at christmas...
We have also done cheese boards and cheese vouchers, countless photo frames,molten/jo malone gift sets....wine and even a history of their house
my budget is £100 throw some ideas at me peeps....
I would keep it simple and give them something money can't buy, like your time and effort. i.e. if they're foodies, make them homemade chutneys/jams. Or a voucher for an exclusive dining experience where you invite them over and cook them a slap up meal (with glitchy wine of course). Depends what they like really!

yes we went for a day out to London our eldest organised, firstly the sky garden just for photos and the view and then the DLR along Canary wharf to Greenwich and the maritime museum and Goddards the pie and mash shop
I love doing things like that, especially when we don't live in London, its a real treat (and also finding a very good wombling A)0 -
Been docs, blood tests done BP high still got to do at home, do have a monitor;) ECG tomorrow , bloods should be back weds and got 1st appointmnet i could get for next mon with doc
Have eaten with no pain half a sandwich:T:T:rotfl::rotfl:
Fingers crossed they find exactly what it is and are able to stop the pain. I take Imaprozole (spel?) as used to fet terrible pains, in the chest and throat. I now get very bad gut pains after I've eaten my tea/dinner. Always after a cooked meat n veg tea/dinner. Maybe I need those meds changed I don't know. There's no place like home
Feeling down? Weak in body? Makes no difference to me, I think of you all when I'm sitting quietly.
Hugs and healing thoughts are always going your way.0 -

We are like chalk and cheese..and to some extents polar opposites...there is an age gap of quite a few years and whilst her life has taken her in one direction and mine the way I want it to...we do still have some common ground ....I guess its just about finding it!frugal October...£41.82 of £40 food shopping spend for the 2 of us!

He is 2 years old. I hope I don't have to wait 10 days either as I'm starting to worry they will refuse me and I'm annoying OH by wanting to get Hugo's bed, lead, brushes etc ready for his arrival before the home visitOH has said I'm not to but I will be looking at the local pet shop and online today while he's at work so he won't know about this
Thank you, I am ok pretty much; I hope I feel better once I have Hugo. It was OH's idea to get him because I was getting upset about not having any purpose in life. I used to feel that I had a purpose when my kids were small and I was taking in unwanted small animals but now they've all died and my kids are grown up its horrible to feel that if you die no one would notice much that you weren't thereSilly I know but I'm the kind of person who likes to feel needed and relied upon
Aww bless you. I think we all feel a bit lost when our kids have grown up and we are no longer needed as much. They do still need us though;) Just try to find something just for you that makes you happy which will hopefully be Hugo. For me it's my new job which I love and has filled the gaps the kids have left behind iykwim. Hope everything goes well and you get your little doggy very soonxx
Cherish those you have in your life because you never know when they won't be there anymore.
