Hi zombies
I downloaded the app today for free (not sure if i have all of the features?)
It seems good and tracks your distance etc but there is no music really is there to jog too?
Also, do you guys go out of a night and run 5k?
I like to run of an evening when it is dark so i don't look like an idiot.0 -
Hiya
You just play your music at the same time as running the zombies app. I usually listen to the intro and the Mission Stuff and then when that bit stops I press play on my music. The music fades when Sam cuts into to talk to you or for zombie-alerts during the run. It works really well on I-Phone - not sure about Android, but think HBS is on Android so will be able to help you on that.
I think you get four missions for free and then its a pretty nominal fee for the whole app - well worth it in my opinion.
And, I used to just run in the dark, but have got over my insecurities on that subject now - Just imagine how you react when you see a larger than average person running? Do you laugh at them or, like me, think fair play - he/she is doing it! I do tend to run a bit faster past groups of teenagers though, LOL!0 -
Yep, I'm an Android bod so can try and help if need be. I set my Spotify or GPlay away, then start ZR and choose mission. The music will continue and pause when something happens on the mission
MY RACE PACK CAME!! I am SO excited!!

Not sure yet, we have friends over this weekend and I want to be in tip-top condition for it...i.e. not horribly hung over

Yes i am insecure i guess, not fat or anything, if anything i want to start running for vanity reasonswant a six pack or as close too as i can get.
I don't personally laugh at runners but i did have a chuckle a few months ago.
A larger woman, who i actually thought was a bit of alright, had clearly just come out of the gym and was sweating and in some tight joggers and a revealing tank top. But where was she when i saw her?
McdonaldsAnd she didn't order water.
That's the epitome of wasting time.
I wasn't in Mcdonalds by choice, i was dragged therehad my first big mac in years and wasn't impressed.
Shame i am not in time for this virtual race, sounds like it would have been fun.
Got some wireless headphones coming tomo so hopefully i will go for my first jog in about 5 years.
I can already envisage the hot sweat barrier you have to break through when you first start your jog. Will have to push past it :money:0 -
You will be fine. If a short, fat, middle-aged old bat like me can do it - so can you! :-)0

I'm also a short, fat, middle-aged bat
you'll be fine!
WannaB - if you have not run before, the BIGGEST tip I can give is pace yourself. Take walking breaks. You will want to run fast but there's nothing more demotivating than finding out you can't do more than 20 seconds, then getting shin splints or pulled muscles and having to take time out. I used a plan like this when I first started: http://www.nhs.uk/Livewell/c25k/Pages/couch-to-5k-plan.aspx and I could slowly jog 5k after 6-7 weeks.
I will admit to eating McD's breakfast snack wraps but the rest of their food is minging
(You know running won't give you a six-pack, right? And a six-pack is no indicator of strength either? )
Apparently they are doing more races next year! So you can join us on one of those
