  • No news today! I was hoping for a text to say they'd got the valuation :(
  • ....but now I've got another text but they've done it!!!!
Hi, Nationwide here. A valuation has been booked for your mortgage application on 29/10/2015. There's no need to be present unless we've arranged this with you.

Been waiting since 20th for valuation survey to be booked. Been through a bit of hassle with the application already, got DIP approved and then was rejected in branch but then approved by underwriters. I have a new job starting in January so hoping it's sorted before then! (although new job is £5k more so maybe wont be the end of the world).
    matched betting: £879.63
  • Still waiting for my valuation to be booked too!

Spoke to NW who said that all checks had been done, now just waiting for the valuation report. Still can't workout if it's been through the underwriters with all our docs or not yet. The girl said it could be up until 18th Nov before receiving an offer subject to valuation.

Totally confused about where in the process we are!
  • Sounds like it's still with the underwriters now and then they'll order the valuation? Have you had any texts from Nationwide?

Fairy - are you going to ring up in regards to your random valuation texts you're receiving? X
  • It's going from bad to worse....

Turns out my broker need my info wrong regarding my credit cards so it slammed my affordability. (I use my own card for company expenses, and as I travel all over and don't always get my receipts/claims in on time my balance is currently £9k. I told the broker this would be paid off this month, which it has been and to note that on the application) Because the broker obviously didn't do this they were looking deeply into my bonus payments and requesting ridiculous things, as this money covered the shortfall in affordability. They have also asked for my payslip for this month and further documents from both mine and my wife's employer.

Also, the valuation company said they had been trying to contact the estate agent but had the wrong phone number (only had 5 digits) so instead of using their brains, realising it was a digit short, and trying to find the correct one they have been dialling it for the last few days.

I feel like this is never going to happen as we keep going to the bottom of the pile every time they request something else. I'm at my wits end with NW and my broker.

If this carries on I might just go to another broker/lender and get a mortgage elsewhere :(
  • Sorry to hear that Wales :(. I can't believe how many errors these companies seem to make!

We got our offer text this morning! One came through saying the valuation was fine and then one a minute later saying the offer had been issued!
    Phew!
Jess - no - I will keep quiet now in case they approved it by mistake! Broker rang to confirm
    Phew! Relief!

  • It will be a miracle if I get an offer now. In two minds whether to cancel it and just go with someone else
