Nationwide timescales!

Options
Hi

I appreciate they are busy and have looked on their website but not sure we fit with the timescales.

Dip refer 13/9
Application documents submitted 16/9

Presume it is with the underwriters as still being looked at and valuation fee still not taken.

Is this normal? We were referred due to 25k of debt which will be cleared from sale of existing home.

Many thanks

When did you receive notification that your application had been referred?

    Still no news fairy? X
  • 13/9 the broker said it was referred. He spoke to NW to find out why as affordability looked fine but it was due to existing debt which will be cleared if this sale/purchase go through.
It just seems a long time.

There were two queries from our documents - child benefit where was it paid to, even though the monthly credit is on our bank statements they had and a query requiring an extra payslip for my husband as one of his payslips showed £10 or so less. We answered/submitted the day queries were raised and that was weeks ago now.

It's not right but nationwide are all over the place at the moment.

By now your mortgage advisor should have got his BDM involved, they should give you a clear idea of the true timescales.

I would be looking at plan b by now if I was you

  • Plan b is Halifax but they will only lend us 207k apparently which means we couldn't pay all the debt off! Maybe I need a plan z! X

Have you tried calling nationwide yourself? Rather than asking the broker/advisor? They have been forever! X

We are still waiting on ours which was:

    Full application 23rd september
    Valuation 25th September

Since then the underwriters declined on affordability and then when questioned by the broker it turned out the calculated it wrong as hadn't taken into consideration a loan which is being paid off this month.
So the file went back to underwriters on Thursday and now it's waiting yet again for us :(

BTW we also had the child benefit issue.. Bloody stupid if you ask me, expecially as they had 6 months of bank statements which showed child benefit grrrrrr
  • I think I will call Monday if I hear nothing more. I think it's a no :(
    Feeling harassed!
Can't believe they calculated it wrong! That's crazy!
