Tell me about it, I'm just glad both the broker and I questioned it.

Jess that's terrible! Good job you queried it.
Our valuation is tomorrow, don't really know what to expect from there to be honest as our application seems to be backwards because of the DIP being refered at the beginning.
They took payment for the valuation, but was contacted to say they were looking at my application before they booked the valuation. They queried what I had put for council tax on application, as what I was previously paying was £2 different to why was on the app.
Then got a text to say that DIP was approved and that valuation had been booked.
I'm wondering/hoping that they have done the whole affordability thing before booking our valuation, and that it should be plain sailing from here... But by the sounds of your situation gg234 I have more waiting afterwards??
It's all so confusing isn't it!
  • I went direct. Did my DIP online prior to going in branch for full application, valuation was done 9 days later and recieved offer notification later that day.

My case was pretty straightforward though (only single employed salary to assess for income).

Yea we did ours direct too
  • We Used a broker (First Mortgage) - We had our AIP for a few weeks as another house sale fell through.

    This was our timescale -

    Full Application in on 2/10/15
    Valuation - 6/10/15
    Mortgage offer -7/10/15

Got the Mortgage offer in writing on the 8/10/15

The Broker was amazing and nationwide seemed to be pretty efficient too!
  • Hurumph! If they are going to say no, I wish they would tell us that quickly too.
Have asked to borrow 220k 35k deposit plus htb 65k.
All existing debt will be settled on sale of current home - but I know they will be looking at this and concerned about risk if we run this up again but there is no assurance I can give them other than we won't. :(
  • I hope you hear back soon!

Any joy today fairy? Did u ring and ask for answers? X
  • Broker called. He said they've put a complaint in about the time scale as it's now gone to another team as they asked the broker to change a box he had put some figures in into another box which changed the material facts about the application! He has been told we will get a decision by end of tomorrow but I'm not holding my breath!
Hope your valuation was ok today? X
