Ah fairy what a joke. It's good they have put a complaint in because it's taking way too long.
Not heard anything today, fingers crossed for tomorrow! X

Finally received my mortgage offer, took a whole month from application but some of that was due to a delay in arranging the valuation. When it got to the underwriters stage, they were querying my overtime and child benefit, but we got there finally!

18th September - AIP via Broker

19th September - Full Application via Broker

    28th September - Valuation rescheduled

    9th October - Valuation completed

20th October - Formal offer via Text message.

Now will wait for the formal paperwork to arrive. Good luck everyone on here, hope you get a decision soon :)

Great news sunny. Was your valuation done with countrywide? How long did it take them to receive the valuation and pass onto underwrighters? My valuation was done Monday morning and nationwide havnt received yet!

I got no idea who did my valuation, it was for £205 on a new build that's not built yet.

Valuation was booked and conducted on the 7th October.

The valuation was received by Nationwide on the 9th October (you get a text message to confirm this) so it was only 2 days.

Is your property your buying a new build?

No it's a 1930s semi detached. And we having home buyers report too so cost more and took longer on the day. Fingers crossed for tomorrow then.

    Have you heard anything fairy??

Oh that explains why mine was quicker, wasn't much for them to see apart from a few floor plans. Well hope you get an answer soon.
  • Boo yes! Finally! Dip approved! Hurrah! Subject to valuation of course so now paid the fee and we wait! Relieved at least one hurdle is now sorted - it's a newbuild - hope the valuation is ok. Buyer of our house had his survey done last Friday so hope he is getting sorted too! Xx hope you hear soon xxlauxx and congratulations Sunny x

Ah fairy that's fab news! This is exactly how it's been panning out for me! So glad there is someone else in our boat!
Really can't stand the wait much longer. Will be 5 weeks this Friday. Just need nationwide to receive this valuation so the underwrighters can get their mits on it!!

    Fairy that's great!

Yes we have, broker rang earlier to say that they have now passed us on affordability after the initial decline (their mistake) so now we've been told we will have an answer within 2 days either offer/decline or referral to head office.

Apparently upto 50% of applications go to head office to make the decision.
Eurgh, hope we get an answer in 2 days with our offer!!

Countrywide did ours but for applauding. Valuation Monday, text message 7.45am Wednesday with mortgage offer so seem quite quick
Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things that you didn't do than by the ones you did do. So throw off the bowlines. Sail away from the safe harbour. Catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore. Dream. Discover."
