Yes. Not that that makes any difference.

We have everything ready to upload as soon as the application is submitted, regardless of employment status.

From what I read here, self employed people appear to experience more issues than employed, and this is why I asked.

I am also waiting on a decision. App submitted on 8th of Oct.

The issue is not caused by self-employment. It's caused by the lender having requirements which brokers pre-empt by having SA302s, or online tax calculations and overviews ready to upload. In the same way, we would have payslips and bank statements.

Your typical direct applicant is going to obtain the required items after they are requested, which means after DIP, possibly after submission of full application.

IMHO Nationwide's direct channel is not as efficient as the broker channel whether you are employed or self-employed, as evidenced by our turnaround times being mostly consistent.

  • I am self employed and other half is in full time employment. The amount applied for could be covered by other half's income alone and is only 20% of the property value.

Bank statements and three years SA302's provided, although, they wanted this last year's SA302 also, so that was done and sent to them maybe ten days ago.

    All done through broker.

    Still waiting.

Makeitstop - we had all our documents for self employment before the application as we knew what would be required yet it still took a month for us. Hope you get some more news soon x

So why did the broker enter your income?

    We wouldn't.

Why have the hassle of evidencing something not needed?

I don't know, is it better not to have done that, even though I am named as an applicant.?

Anyway, it's done now. I expect to know one way or another by end of next week. Will consider alternatives otherwise.

As I said, you don't include something you don't need.

    Why jump through unnecessary hoops?

Thought I would tag onto this thread. We are in the process with Nationwide at the moment. We had a DIP done at the end of August, found a great house under renovation in our street on 23rd September, mortgage interview sat 31st Oct. Now we are waiting to see about the valuation survey, Nationwide were in touch yesterday by text say the valuation had been rescheduled!! With no date so I phoned up and they said it was either that the valuation company was very busy or the vendor had put them off as they had 23/11/15 for it to take place. They said I would get a call back but nothing came yesterday so I will call back later today.
  • I'm also in with the NW wait,

19/10/15 - DIP received & valuation fee taken
    20/10/15 - Full Application Began
26/10/15 - Broker received all our documentation

Just been a wait since then, nothing back since and no valuation booked until our documents are affordability is passed.
