Thanks Caz. To be honest, £399 on the Sat would be OK I guess - what site did you see that on?

I can only really fly from Manchester - Heathrow is a bridge too far methinks!

    I use kayak.co.uk
Manchester shows £359 for Mon-Mon with US Airways via PHL
or £381 on the direct Delta flight (again Mon-Mon)

for the Sat the cheapest are £389 for the US Airways and over £500 for a direct flight!!!!!!!

Do you think those are the best prices I can hope for? Or should I hang on a few weeks and see what happens?

    I know it's a bank holiday weekend which probably doesn't help :(
  • Hello everyone!

I'm a student and looking to work at one of the summer camps in the states this year - I've been looking at flights et al for ages now, and I still don't know whether I've got a good deal or not. This summer, am looking to fly out to New York on 20th June and then come back from Atlanta on 6th September 10. I've got a quote for £395 from Sta travel, the agency for students, but just wondering if you know anywhere that could beat that?

    Thanks for your help...

get your summer camp status first then fly into the closest airport not worth doing anything else unless there is one particular camp you want to work at.
Getting to work at a decent US summer camp is getting harder to do good luck.

seem to be a few posts on the best times and ways to get good prices
M4rk took alot of time helping you/us all and all is on the first page

    Hi folks,

£450 return from Manchester to JFK (via Amsterdam with KLM) out and direct with Delta on the way back.
Leaving Sat 18th Dec (or the 19th, same price), returning 24th Dec - good price do you think?

@Stothei, check out https://www.skyscanner.net for the best rates. I found mine on opodo :)
  • Afternoon All,

    I'm looking for help!
I'm planning a surprise trip to New York for my Girlfriends birthday and to ask her a 'Question'. I want it to be when the city is at its most romantic so planned for just before christmas when the lights are all up and there's hopefully snow.
I think the dates i want are 19th-22nd December (3nights).
I've spent several hours looking around but i'm still not sure of the best tactic, singles with different airlines etc.
Cheapest i've found was £560 each with a stopover in Dublin and 14 hour trip.
Ideally it would be from Birmingham or Manchester but any i'll consider.
Also any tips on romantic hotels on a budget would be great.

Obviously with only going for 3 nights i don't want a really long tiring trip that arrives at silly times, but my budget is limited so will sacrifice that for a deal.

Any help anyone can offer would be massively appreciated.

Hi, sorry if I am asking something that has already been answered. (I have tried looking through the posts.) But can anyone help - I am looking to go to New York this December with my partner. Was thinking of Thursday 2nd Dec to Tues 7th Dec. But I was wondering if flights were cheaper on specific days I.e : are we better to go Monday to Friday? I have tried looking on flight comparison sites but I am just getting too much info thrown at me - and would like to go into it with a bit more knowledge. Any info is much appreciated!

Will be flying out from Manchester and need an airline that allows checked in cases. (Planning to do Xmas shopping while there!)
  • Hi I have just signed upto this forum and dont know my way around?? Its very confusing I want an up to date (Aug 2010) answer to the question WHERE DO I FIND CHEAP FLIGHTS TO FROM MANCHESTER TO NEWARK(NEW YORK) IN NOV 23 FOR 4 NIGHTS? My husband is recovering from a transplant and we want to go there. Will the prices go up as its nearly Thanksgiving day (25th) or will i be lucky? Wot prices can I expect as all direct flights i can find are £900. Friends have been for a total of £850 each inc hotel, but they booked a year in advence. Im getting stressed as i may have left it too late now?? Thanks in advance :p:) xxx

How much is the travel insurance with the pre-existing medical condition?
