Flights over the New Year are very expensive, nothing under £600 minimum and that involves connections. At this stage if you really want to travel, you will have to pay, have a look at netflights.com but there are no low fares. Both dates you chose, outbound and return are at the weekend which normally have weekend supplements so you might be able to save £30 pp by changing dates but it is far too late to get a good fare now.
  • Hey, I'm looking for a cheap return flight London-NY, 5th of June - early August. Last week direct flights were about £370, and today BA and AA have flights on my dates for £314! Should I buy or wait till it gets even cheaper perhaps?

it may go under £300 from london and you may get £20/£30 cheaper but BA & AA will sell up. if your going for 2 months it will give you peace of mind you have a seat on a plane on the day you want I would book it now

Anyone know where I will be able to find cheap flights from Manchester preferably direct, to NYC, flexible on dates from 03/04/2010 up until 06/04/2010 for 4 nights? I cant seem to find anything under £600 indirect :(
When i have rang a few places they've told me i've left it far too long and there are only first class seats left on direct flights??!! Surely not.
Any help would be greatly appreciated :)

    Thanks in advance

Me and my girlfriend are looking at going from London to New York, then New York to Las Vegas.
I'll be booking it all seperately but when looking at BA's website it appears it will be a hell of a lot cheaper to book the New York flight as a return at only £370ish pp instead of doing it through their website as a one way trip.
    the deal was here: http://www.britishairways.com/travel/flights-to-new-york/public/en_gb

The price for return was going to be £600ish for both return but £1500 for both single! Obviously it would be a wast of one ticket but if its cheaper im not bothered!
    Any ideas?

This has been asked before. There is a possibility that if you do not turn up for the return flight the airline will charge you the single fare.

Have you priced up an open jaw ticket?
    Gone ... or have I?

I wanted to go to New York for a week in May. Cheapest I've seen is KLM for £390 via KLM, Opodo or Expedia flying Sunday 2nd May.

Is this a good price or do I have a chance of it coming down closer to the time? I can go on the Friday, Saturday or Monday if it helps (would actually prefer the Saturday)

    Thanks in advance!

    where can you fly from?

If from Heathrow the cheapest is showing as Swiss via Geneva bookable on the Swiss website 2nd-9th for £335 ...the fare is actually £50 + taxes

The flight you have seen flagged as KLM is actually a Delta flight and is available for £399 for the Sat to Sat and is a direct flight

Thanks Caz. To be honest, £399 on the Sat would be OK I guess - what site did you see that on?

I can only really fly from Manchester - Heathrow is a bridge too far methinks!
