i think it all depends on where you want to fly from, i believe the Liverpool to New york was a disaster this year and has had the number of flight reduced. also the individual flights to Toronto from Newcastle & Doncaster were often merged with Manchester flights which nearly always adds 2-3 hours to your flight.
Obviously they are definitely doing Manchester to Toronto again next year up until the end of May because their website says so but i have noticed that their prices are up 70% from the same ones this year.

For me the 'flight merging' is the most worrying as they don't have to tell you until you board that you aren't going direct !!!!
  • Excuse my ignorance, but does that mean they take off from Newcastle and stop off again at Manchester?
  • Is there any cheaper days to fly out to NYC?

Wanting to go next year at the end of June, any cheap flights then?

yep :cool:, not very good is it.

Quite a lot of airlines do it, we once went to Florida a few years ago via Belfast, it added 2.5hrs to the flight !!

Our Globespan flight this year was particularly bad due to aircraft shortages. When we got to Manchester the plane was on the ground, it then took off to Newcastle, picks 40 passengers up and then returned to Manchester, we took off 6hrs after our scheduled time but have been told it could have been a lot worse :o

    Enjoy
  • Hi

My sister has just booked for March next year. She got flights with www.flyzoom.com flying from Gatwick though £300 each. She booked the Moderne hotel which is 3* near to Broadway and Times square. £420 (£210 per person)for 3 nights room only with www.relaxabroad.com. There are cheaper hotels around though.

Six of us are going at the beginning of June for a friend's birthday and I was hoping to book the trip pretty soon. The cheapest flights I've been able to find are the ones with Zoom. There is a discount code for Zoom, valid until the end fo the year, and with this I've managed to find flights for just under £240. Haven't booked yet - am living in hope that one of the more 'decent' airlines will decide to have a sudden sale although can see me going ahead with the Zoom booking. Would appreciate if anyone can offer a better option. Thanks in advance, Rylo

in my experience, booking now for June isn't probably the best idea..
i book normally about 3 months in advance, and always seem to get one of the best deals around...

this is obvious to some, but make sure you include a saturday night stay, which makes the flight cheaper...
  • BA have extended their flight sale to April, May and June 2008. Flights in April are available from Newcastle- HRW- JFK for under £600.00 for 2( cheap tickets , expensive surcharges). Sale finishes next Tuesday apparently. This thread is great for advice but I would suggest trip advisor when looking for hotels, we went for 10 days at Easter from Newcastle with KLM, but their tickets are a lot more expensive now. We stayed at the Shelburne, Murray Hill ( Affinia Hotel) on Lexington, just a couple of blocks up from the Chrysler building, and it was excellent.
