We went in february and it was FREEZING ! Have never felt coldness like it. It must have been about -20 . Take plenty of layers of clothes with you instead of one big heavy jacket.
    I love NY :)

I first went to NY in February, a few years ago, then again this year end of May.

I now know I am definitely a warm weather New Yorker goer....did so much more, and I hate the cold anyway. :rotfl:

No, me next, you've been too many times. :D I thought that end of May, it was perfect weather for us. It was late 70's, wasn't humid at all and Central Park was a haven. :A

Ok, true. Meant you have been more times than me. :p

Loved Central Park, couldn't believe how big it was, so much going on, but also loads of places to be away from it all, was much needed respite every now and then, then I would be all fired up to trot off again. :D

Very true, I love Washington Square park and tend to grab a coffee and sit there to browse the hundreds of dollars worth of stuff I always buy in Generation Records!

Hoping to go back in August, yeah I know it will be humid as hell but my friends band are playing in Irving Plaza so we want to go out for it. All depends if I get a new job contract, fingers crossed :o

So, those who've been in the 'humid as hell' months - any survival tips? I really don't 'do' hot and humid normally ...

Whats the best way of calling home to the UK when in NYC? Should I buy a pre-paid card from a travel agents and use that on a payphone? Or is there a more cost effective way of doing it?
I did think about installing Skype on my mobile and using that, but im worried about the wifi availability out there (When I went to madrid and barcelona i had a hell of a job finding any 'free' wifi...millions of WAP's, but none of them free/usable), so Im wondering what is the best way?
    Nice to save.
